I don't recall how many times OKC played Memphis in the playoffs this decade but that came to mind.

I mean, the Grizz literally played the Spurs more than they did OKC.

San Antonio v. Memphis - 2011, 2013, 2016, 2017
OKC v. Memphis - 2011, 2013, 2014

If you extend it to all time, Memphis also played the Spurs in their first ever playoff series in 2004.

Missouri and Kansas had a legit battle during the civil war in which a few Hundred died. that takes the cake- if it’s considered to be underrated

Clemson and South Carolina have some pretty deep history
Clemson was made because one guy didn’t like what South Carolina stood for and how they were operating their college
So he left and created Clemson.

Most people here don't watch/follow the NHL. Yes, that rivalry was awesome and was must watch TV in the late 90s and early 00s. I remember watching when the original line brawl/goalie fight and telling my Dad as a youngster "I want to play hockey". Next fall I am playing hockey.

Pitt/WVU and BYU/Utah are way up there in terms of pure hatred.

I'm a massive homer, but I do think people overlook how good a rivalry it is.

Oregon/Washington is another west coast one where there is serious dislike that most of the country misses.

The problem is that fair or not, there's a reputation that the West Coast doesn't care much about college football so the hatred isn't as much as some of the rivalries in the South and the Midwest.

Definitely on a national sports fan scale if you count those who don’t watch hockey (or perhaps even include casual NHL fans who recently got into the game), but most NHL fans know late 90s/early 00s Avs-Wings was pure hatred and one of the best rivalries in the history of the NHL, so it depends a bit on what you mean by “underrated”. Sadly, it’s basically non-existent now with all those players (especially Claude Lemieux and Darren McCarty) long gone and the teams now in separate conferences.

Blackhawks-Canucks had a nice little rivalry in the late 2000s/early 2010s that was/is pretty underrated, even among NHL fans.

ASU-UA? This is a very overrated rivalry. UW-Oregon or UW-WSU is much much more heated than ASU-AZ. Both fan bases are fair weather fans and imports. Most don't care.

It's not the most underrated, but there's some real hate in the Raiders-Chiefs game.
