Should’ve let the justice system play out in China. Do the crime serve the time. These guys won’t learn shite. 1 out of the 3 will be serving serious jail time for something else at some point.

I haven't really followed this closely, but I heard some media types say the level of premeditation to rip stuff from multiple high end stores shows some serious stupidity and entitlement such that expulsion has to be in play. I'd say make them sit for a year. They should be grateful that the God Emperor got them out of a jam.

The cynical side of me says this mess is karma. Let's be clear - the basketball gambit is primarily a money and prestige grab by UCLA and Georgia Tech. Just about every state institution now heavily recruits students from Asia - and China in particular - for the opportunity to charge international tuition rates, bolster incoming first-year test scores, and solicit contributions from rich families.
It's not like a lot of cultural exchange is going on in a Louis Vuitton store. These basketball players were idiots for stealing, but they also exposed the banality of the whole trip.
