Matt Flynn and Alex Smith should definitely be on the list.

neither should be near the list. Flynn's stock is exactly the same, and Alex Smith's stock probably went up with his play this season

I say Rivers

it's rivers

2011 was an aberration year and most thought he was hurt. 2012 was the same shite all over again

he was SOLIDLY in that 5-8 range of QBs and is falling fast

yep, he was considered as good as Rodgers just 2 years ago. They started well this year, and he fell apart in the 4th quarter game after game

Totally disagree. Russell Wilson had one of the greatest seasons of all time for a rookie. Kaepernick is playing like Steve Young. I think Flynn and Smith are where they were at the beginning of the year. Smith might even have increased his stock the way he played early in the season.

for a QB at his age, the massive regression of rivers is pretty crazy

for some reason i still have faith in him and now think that his problems are complacency in the offense. here's hoping that a new offense will make him think more and be less confident in his throws/reads

Norv certainly didn't help him and it always seemed like SD was letting playmakers walk and bringing in subpar replacements. And I think you can close the book on Ryan Matthews.

AJ Smith getting rid of V Jax and Sproles didn't do Rivers any favors.

He seemed to be the top young pocket passer in the NFL but i'm not sure about that any longer.

In similar fashion to a guy like Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson has the tendency to make QBs look a lot better than they are.

Eventually they'll get exposed though

rivers does look like he's lost a lot of zip on the ball, which isn't shocking considering he throws the ball with his elbow more than his shoulder

but seriously...no QB had as much of a "coaching" role as rivers in the NFL. has any player ever gone off on his coach on the sidelines for a coaching mistake and everyone goes "well that's not a big deal"? it happened like 2-3 times this year at least

Drew Brees.

Still led the league in yards and TDs

Accumulating worthless yards in games where you have little chance of winning tends to increase passing statistics.

which games were those?

the only game we were really blown out he only put up 200 yards

His 2 400 yard games came against Dallas (a win) and Green Bay (a 1 point loss)

Ponder had a higher QB rating than Stafford this year

Ponder had Adrian Petersen in the backfield and didn't have to deal with a roulette of WR corps the entire season.

and Ponder is also terrible.

Other QB's have performed well with a roulette of WR's. His #1 receiver is the arguably the best player in the NFL. Hell, Drew Brees threw for 5000 yards in 2008 with a roulette at receiver and threw for 5000 this year while having every single receiver injured. Ponder also doesn't have Calvin Johnson to throw the ball to.

They lost their last 8 games. None of that is on the QB?

i would have to say Brandon Weeden... you better set the world on fire if you're a 29 year old rookie who benched Colt McCoy...

he didn't, and the Browns still need a QB

He moved the ball and scored more than any QB in the league. Those are pretty important stats.

Pwoerman- jay cutler

Cam newton sucked before his team was completely out of contention. Then he did well with nothing to play for and no pressure

Ill say jimmy graham
