Why would I make it up?

I didnt even play high school basketball.

My high school was in a district with the Irving Schools(mostly black) and the Grand Prairie schools(mostly black).

How did a team with 3 D1 players finish last in district?

My high school team had 2 D1 players and 2 D2 players (one being me) my junior and senior year and we went to the Texas 5A state finals both years. Won state the first year and finished 2nd my senior year.

Only 1 of the 3 actually made it to his senior year of college and that was Marshall Henderson

The Hofstra one was a walk on who only played a year or two and didn't see significant minutes

The Northwestern one got hurt and didn't get to finish out his college career

Besides the district was loaded with talent. When every team in the district had talent and more athleticism than ours, what we had was overshadowed. We were really weak at the guard positions - our best players were in the frontcourt. Point guard play was non existant.

I'm 39 and haven't played competitive ball in 6-7 years. I'm not anywhere close to being in good basketball shape. I would average a double double against them, easily.
Not if you can't get up and down the court, which would be your issue.

You could put together an 8th grade AAU team that would beat them handily.

Yep.

Your average junior high team isn't going to beat them but if you get a solid AAU team of 13-14 year olds, they could beat UCONN.

Most high school teams would as well, would have to be some really small type high schools that wouldn't.

what makes you say that would be an issue? But you're right, it would. And I factored it in. I still get 15pts/15 boards easily. They're girls.

I saw LSU's women play a 40 minute scrimmage vs. their "Gold Team", which is the guys that they practice against. This was in the pre-season and season ticket holders were invited. Someone I know has season tix and they invited me to come.

For about 30 minutes, the game was very even. Then the women pulled away and won by about 10, mainly because the guys had only 1 sub and they got tired. The guys were all pretty decent....there were no Lebron James' in the group...but they played hard and physical. LSU is no UCONN, but they are an above average team this year that should make the NCAA tournament.

So yeah, a team of women can beat a team of guys. It can happen.

My last two years of HS our girls team who made the state finals each year that fall, played in our mens grades 9-12 intramural league. They got ran off the court almost every game. We beat them by 30+ every time and our roster was a bunch of football, soccer and baseball players just looking to frick around during the winter. Hell we would drink before games.

Posters riding the coattails of some talented 13 year olds but those girls would give 95% of the MSB work

People don't realize their ball is 1" smaller. Everyone is always amazed at the "shooting fundamentals". You increase the rim size 1" for the men and any tomato can will hit 70% of his free throws.

These comparisons are dumb.

Mississippi State has the second ranked WBB team in the country right now.

They got beat in scrimmages by a bunch of guys who play pick up in the gym. The tallest of which was 6'7.

The gap between men's and women's basketball is gigantic.

It is not crazy to think they would get destroyed by pick up players in a college rec center. i think there are definitely high school teams that would destroy them.

Of course they would for 95% of the MSB.

I think if you picked the 5-10 but MSB hoopsters, they could take UCONN, and I don't generally speak too highly of the MSB's athletic acumen.

But just picking a random group, yea, we're not winning.

I have no problem admitting this. In 8th grade I played this girl 1v1. She was the best basketball player in our grade, regardless of sex. I played AAU, but stopped junior year since I couldnt make varsity(we won state at highest level). She killed me, and she killed every guy she played. 2 of the guys she played in hs 1v1 played high level D2, she quit basketball in college.
