Draft expert? I probably work with a dozen guys who are draft experts. What can Mel tell us that we don't already know or can't fricking Google? What is his purpose? I'm sure he was useful 20 years ago. But, Now he is pointless

I mean the dude watches a shite ton of tape to tell you about these kids who you've probably never heard of... His drafts may not be accurate but I guarantee you are probably looking up a kid or two he mentions and saying, "who?"

He won't always be right but he does know the tape and has an opinion based on that tape and what he has heard.

Just for hype purpose. It’s not what you know, it’s how you say it and sell what you say.

ESPN has to pay someone to lead their coverage. Might as well be a guy who has done it for 40 years.

I’m not a Kiper fan, but the guy knows his shite. Have you predicted an entire first round? It’s hard, and all we have to do is Google everyone. This guy does the legwork that fans don’t have to do. He is a pioneer in NFL draft research.

I can respect that.

The most read articles on ESPN.com are Matthew Berry's weekly fantasy columns and Kiper/McShay's mock drafts. Their mock drafts on TV eat up some programming too.

People used to act like lisping Mayock mentioning he got Belichek's coffee every five seconds was this great breathe of fresh air cause he was real. Now he's the worst drafting GM in the business.

Hopefully NFL Network airs a non "this prospects mom died" version of the draft this year.

I think you’re confusing Mayock with Michael Lombardi. Mayock never worked with an NFL team prior to becoming the raiders GM
