Ridgewood - Lutheran was a great one also

I worked that one at a playground on one day and had st aug bro martin the next day at gormley....

bizarre contrast...

but to the kids on the field and parents and kids in the stands the one at jefferson playground was just as important as the other.......

I considered Barbe/Lagrange or Barbe/Carencro bigger rivalries in the past, though during the Faulk years, it was kind of rough
Carencro kicked our arse when I was at Barbe. Damien James had a field day against us. My senior season, John Paul Jones was the best defensive player in the state.

Friday Night Football had a discussion on those small schools last week after showing the Ridgewood - Ecole Classique highlight. They hoped for those schools to keep playing and that those kids are out there having fun.

Wouldn't that require HC to win once in a while?

HC has won two of the past four games played

at one time there was a district of Country Day, St. Martin's, Crescent City, Ecole Classique, Ridgewood, Lutheran, Port Sulphur, and Boothville Venice...

back in the 80s i think they had a whole 1A district just in Plaquemines Parish lol

It was a good while after I was gone, but I think James and the QB for Barbe (Eric Fry, I think) had some crazy numbers where they set records and had a ridiculous shootout.

Yea if anyone's been to a rummel/Curtis game it'd be hard not to call that a rivalry
