based off the success of both teams over the long haul

I would say...

Hahnville and Destrehan.....

Rummel Shaw was pretty good... not anymore.

Ponchy will win by 7 TD's.

Amite Indy was always highly touted matchup.

EA/ St. Amant is a good one

Destrehan Hahnville

The Catholic league is basically a rivalry game every week.

Spinoff: are there any schools that you guys support that really dont have a rival

Ponchatoula vs Hammond is a heck of game but it hasn't been close as of the past decade.

Lol nobody cares about that game outside of the Ponchy/Hammond area. Also majority/minority transfers have allowed Ponchy to poach Hammond's players for the past 5 to 6 years.

Hahnville/Desty is always a good one.
Amite/Independence in the 90's and early 2000's was great
Kentwood/Southern Lab
Parkview and Redemptrist was great as well.

Was Bastrop good back in the day?

Were they ever rivals with WM/Neville?

Depending on what you are referring to as back in the day. Back in the late 80's and into early 90's, Bastrop sucked worse than WM but they got Brad Bradshaw and he turned that program into a contender when both Neville and Bastrop dropped to 4A and yes, they are Neville's rival in our district. The winner of that game usually went on to win it.

Destrehan vs Hahnville Only 2 high schools in the parish, always featuring college talent, and directly across the Miss River from each other.

And the winner is the district champ every year, loser usually ends up runner-up.

I heard some talk that the next re-districting session will send HHS, DHS, and ESJ to the Northshore district. Hopefully it's just rumors and not true. Travel will suck if true.

Sounds about right. Before Shows, WM and Bastrop fought it out for the cellar every year. Back then it was a 3 team race between Neville, Ouachita, and Ruston.

I really don't why Neville and WM don't get it on outside of a jamboree every year when we still play Ouachita and Ruston.

Talking about best rivalries in the state. Lester picks a game that has been played for 3 WHOLE YEARS

the rivalry has been boiling for 2 decades now, with back and forth trash talk. Suffice to say, there arent many top 5 programs in the state playing each other every year

That game hasn't been remotely interesting since the mid 90's.

Hanson is absolutely terrible at football.
