Sabermetric stats in baseball. People read a stat and think they know the whole story. You've got people debating the sport who don't even watch it any more. They need a stat to tell them if someone is good or not

Ha, that's like every other thread on the MSB. Shel and buckeyevol run to cite PER/WAR/VORP whatever to the point that it makes me want to hear about Peeej's eyeball tests.

Im not fighting them. They can be very useful. In fact there are times I wish more people understood them.

But it bothers me most When people use them as a crutch
