Ncaa could’ve managed this in the front-end to mitigate.

And by NCAA you mean the schools, right?

What bubble? It’s like asking what will happen if the hot dog bubble bursts. There is no bubble. It’s just part of America.

The minor league teams in UK soccer are very popular.

Are we talking like Stoke City and Wrexham in the EFL that are trying to get up to Premier League or actual minor league teams like Barcelona's youth club?

Ohio State has 600,000 living alumni and Michigan has 700,000 give or take , they drew 18.4 million viewers in their regular season finale. I just don't think a minor league can do that without the name attached. Most of us watch that game because of the prestige of the teams involved and the stakes

It’s not going to burst, it’s going to be purchased and organized into a league.

I do think NIL spending will cool down a bit at some point. But, maybe that's naive.

It's naive

What may happen is that teams will cycle. Like, LSU goes on a big bender, spends 50-60 mil, and gets a title within 1-2 years. Meanwhile, Alabama and UGA etc sit this out, have solid years. then in a few one of them loads up and does the same thing. Not an unlimited arms race, but instead, you let someone else blow their war chest before you decide to dump yours. Sure, there will still be some teams like A&M spending hand over fist every year (because they desperately want to win one), but I could see some gentlemen's agreements going on in back rooms, with the big money boosters.

That's another problem with NIL; when you're talking about tens of millions a year, per team, ... these guys know each other and that's a lot of money to shell out for no guaranteed return. Collusion would be easy enough, simply by them agreeing not to bankrupt each other. They take turns, which allows 1-2 teams to build a strong roster (challenge the Big 10 team), doesn't drive the market overboard, and if you're holding back now, you get your turn soon enough.

If the best u22 players are playing, people will watch.

Why in the last 100 years hasn't some entrepreneur(s) come along and started an 18-22yo league? After all, they had a ready made labor pool that was being "exploited" by the universities for free. Seems like if these players were such a draw, there was profit to be made by someone willing to take a chance.

Oh, wait. It's because no one wants to watch them outside of the framework of collegiate athletics. The race-hustlers and do-gooders who keep screaming, "It's unfair these poor athletes don't make a dime while the schools rake in millions!" don't want to admit it, but college athletes aren't worth one cent. In fact, they were overpaid receiving an education, free housing/food/medical care and professional development. No one is going to pay to watch Derrick Henry, Reggie Bush or Tim Tebow play minor league football as a 19 yr old. People tune in or pay to watch the Alabama Crimson Tide, USC Trojans and Florida Gators.

At this point I’m praying for it to happen sooner than later.

I’m at the point where I think there’s a large sector of college football players that don’t even care about the result of the game. It’s get the NIL bag, get the NFL bag, the end.

Name one league in the last 100 years that was even attempted to steal players away from college? Why wasn't there one?

There's your answer.

Don't care. Let the greed explode, and destroy it.

I'm like a scorned ex when it comes to college athletics.

No, they're not. Their entire draw is the association with the universities. The players were never the product. You are completely avoiding the point.

Correct. I try to get to games when I can, regardless of the type of season my team is having. I never thought to drive over for a game because I want to see a particular player.

Because we know they have the best players, as they prove the first 11 games of the season
