Looks like a dude filled with steroids making a dirty play on the quarterback.

Why do LSU fans have to use everything to cry about past plays involving them.
On that play. Bama player should have been flagged and ejected for targeting and the o lineman should have been flagged and ejected (would have been his 2nd personal foul)

He didn’t put his head down, he was almost leaning straight up. Face mask to face mask. Textbook tackle. No violation.

It would have been called targeting by SEC refs.

Roughing the passer
Perfect illustration in the OP
I’m not sure the forcible contact to the head/neck area was bad enough to warrant targeting. However ripping his helmet off at the end of the tackle suggests his force was aimed high on the QB, a defenseless player by definition.

how else is a 6’4 DT supposed to hit a 5’7 QB with a midsection the length of a loaf of bread

TY, Bama fan, for not insulting everyone's intelligence by starting a thread telling us this wasn't a cheap shot.
I'm happy we have finally move on from "we don't get away with that kind of stuff" to "hey everyone, we cheated again and got away with it! Now let's celebrate this dirty hit!".
My brain deals much better this way.

Initial contact isn't the problem. It still should have been targeting based on that silly rule. I don't have a problem with the first hit, though. When he goes to the ground, though, he's obviously trying to injure Murray. Dude is a scumbag.

This sounds like a new twist of the JFK shooting.

Dirty hit on the Alabama player. Bama should get to reinstate one of their players that got caught using PEDs. Anti-Bama bias is real.

That's my opinion of the whole thing as well...
HOWEVER....
This is called targeting 100/100 times if it isn't a certain team(s). SEC fans have seen similar or worse happen with no call, while players from LSU, aTm, etc, are all suspended for much, much less.
Another instance where the Duck Quacks, but you get downvoted or called a pussy for pointing out the obvious.

I agree that they should have called targeting based on the rule. I just think the rule is stupid. Ignoring that, what he does going to the ground is a clear penalty and should be a penalty. OU's OL should've taken his knees out every play for the rest of the game.

the only part i found unnecessary was Q shite talking Kyler right before the lineman jumped on Q.

That’s one of the easiest targeting calls I’ve seen all year, blatant helmet to helmet, leading with the helmet, defenseless player etc.

You really thought “ the only way to make that tackle is to hit helmets and then after doing that, lift up and drive his head into the ground”
Posted on 12/30/18 at 10:34 am to lsupride87
Aggies gotta protect daddy.

What is he supposed to do? CFB teams should start starting actual midgets at Quarterback so every hit is to the head
Posted on 12/30/18 at 10:35 am to ReauxlTide222
Well I’ll admit I don’t know all the rules for targeting so I’ll just say what I see.
It’s definitely helmet to helmet and you’re sad for tryi;g to say it’s not. Facemask to facemask.
He did not launch. Still on his feet when making contact.
He does drive him into the ground. Which is very Fairly esque.
