Dort is likely done at OKC after this season. They’ll probably try to keep Hart but they drafted another center last year that got hurt before the season started so who knows.

This playoff run has proved that they should move on from Dort but they should NOT move on from iHart.
Posted on 5/27/26 at 4:17 pm to Stonehog
They have 12th and 17th pick in the draft, and the best GM in the NBA. I’m sure they will figure it out.

OKC has enough assets to trade for Giannis. He seems like a great cultural fit and has the size to match up with Wemby. Thoughts on this?

The two fouls were not the only issue, they ran him through a few “hard” screens and knocked him down. It’s NBA playoffs, toughen up or go watch baseball.

Didn't see a foul on Biyombo. Looked like he jumped straight up and blocked the shot without making contact to the shooter with his arms. Seriously, why was that a foul? B/c the little bitch fell down grabbing his head even though he didn't get hit in the head?

That would be pretty dumb on their part. They are team on the verge of winning their second title in a row, super young, with tons of assets. Playing it right they could be set up for the next ten years. It would make zero sense for them to mortgage their long term future just to help do what they are already doing. They are not a team needing a piece to get over the hump.

Giannis seems destined for a larger market and he’s a FA in 2028. Doesn’t seem like a natural fit anyways. Chet still has a lot of room to fill out and will be nasty when he does.

Actually you are insecure.
You’re the one starting threads to defend your flopping arse team. If you were secure you wouldn’t care if people liked your team.

OKC wins: Refs fault
The refs sucked arse and stemmed a potential SA run, BUT it didn’t impact the outcome IMO. Refs didn’t hand this win to OKC.

If you seen the thread last night it was so many insecure Thunder haters.
If we had a power rating for current insecurity, you’d probably be tops. You’re up there with some of the Bama fans come playoff selection time. Your team won a pivotal game 5, and you’re still bitching.

Cope lol
I love all the melting Spurs rooters are doing since last night. Goldmine

It's amazing that any comment that could be perceived in the slightest to be against their team and they are immediately triggered. It makes for a fun time to see their reactions.

Coping by saying your team deserved to win? Weird…

I think we are in one of those situations where someone is too ignorant to have a real discussion with. He doesn’t really interpret words and sentences correctly. One of the other posters wouldn’t even answer specific questions. It’s like you’re texting one of those spam numbers.

This you?
The only discussion is sore losers who blame refs and everything else. Instead of asking why their defense gave up almost 100 pts in 3 qtrs who had 2 key players out and starting someone who was in G League a few months ago.
I’ve learned thru these threads no one wants discussion.

I posted this in the other thread and it got zero discussion. Some great talking points. But the melt is so bad no one wanted to.

Spurs/Thunder might be the most interesting chess match between two coaching staffs in NBA history.
The constant battle between the Spurs trying to keep Wemby at the basket, and the Thunder adjusting their spacing in each game to get him out.
The Spurs trying to keep Shai away from the middle of the floor and out of the paint completely, while the Thunder change screening angles, floor alignments, etc. to get him space to operate.
Then in Game 4, the Spurs going away from doubles, and the Thunder finding a way to consistently force 2 on the ball in Game 5.
On the other side, the Spurs trying to get Wemby free in the paint on offense, and the Thunder doing everything in their power to push him to the perimeter.
Every game of this series has looked completely different. It’s been a masterclass for anyone who cares about more than “falling” and ref discourse.
Daignault also managed to get Chet and Hart non Wemby minutes twice last night and they went so well Mitch had to check Wemby back in quicker than he wanted

The adjustments the players have made for themselves are amazing also, Stephon Castle after game 3 hasn’t turned over the ball he’s been super calm against Wallace & Caruso now we’re seeing Harper not do well with the pressure
Jared McCain Game 4 very tough position to be in because now San Antonio could put one of their best defenders on you without Williams or Mitchell on the floor, he didn’t expect that but Game 5 he looked extremely comfortable penetrating

First half in Game 5 they gave SGA the deterred help look, constantly stunting making him think it’s isolation but instead of showing it late once he enters the paint (above the FT line) like they did in game 4 they instead show it super earlier. Spurs really did good in the 1st Q stunting getting back to their man + the close outs were phenomenal
In the 2nd half, they played SGA more isolation forcing him to shoot since he wasn’t hitting, they stayed home on shooters but OKC worked themselves inside/out still. Honestly surprises me they didn’t even get the lead down to 5, they couldn’t constantly score on OKC’s defense
Spurs have so many different bodies that 6’6+ this type of length is insane, never seen positional players like this
Epic 4Q coaching battle. We saw Hartenstein play QB at the top of the key to space the floor, letting Chet operate & pulling rim-protectors like Kornet & Wemby out. Or Shai diving deep corner for a Vic blitz as a second defender to open Chet at the top of the key for a free look.
Also not lost is OKC injuries to 2 key players and adjustments made by Mark

For all the people who claim they don’t watch and league is ruined, ratings say otherwise

What’s interesting about McCain is that he isn’t hitting lights out. You’d rather have J-Dub and Mitchell in there but it is what it is.
The two biggest keys in this series for OKC has been Caruso and Hartenstein.
What does OKC do with Hart next year? Wemby isn’t going anywhere. He’s proven more valuable in this series than Dort.
Interesting questions. Presti will have to navigate money but mu guess he already has a plan.
As for IHart, I live his play and he does do much for community. The challenge is you can’t just plan ahead for one team you have to look at bigger picture
I recall after Lakers beat is on our very first playoffs it was said we only needed a big man. So we added Perk who was parked close to basket. And by then the league changed and players were moving out and Perk couldn’t do that he was too immobile.
Not saying Perk was the problem but the league changes quickly. Other teams pop up and have different strengths you have to deal with.
Presti won’t look at it like keeping one player to help against one team. He’ll make moves to try and compete with most teams and who can fit in with team concept.
As much a star as SGA is, if one notices he is sometimes to unselfish wanting to involve players. Last night in first qtr he was giving up good shots to defer and then turning ball over. It was bad. But thats the team first mentality they have. SGA usually gets his but later than sooner.
