I would tell people if it was a good shot. Still not make a big deal about it.
But that shot was awful. It shouldn't have ended up as a par.
I did stick one within 5 feet yesterday on the short par 3 here.
Saw this topic on GolfWRX, if you hit a hole in one, are you buying drinks for your group and anyone who saw, or are you walking in the clubhouse and giving everyone a drink?

That last one was part if a great story. I was playing a match that was tied with three holes left - a par 4, a par 3 & a par 5. I go birdie, hole in one, birdie ...
Holy shite batman. I'm guessing your opponent went birdie, other, eagle?

He went eagle (holed out from about 100 yds after I knocked it tight), missed the green then I made hole in one and picked up, then chipped in from greenside bunker for eagle (i missed a 30 footer to tie the match) ..
That was fun

Depends on the course too. If it was somewhere I played a lot and people knew me, I'd spring for a round of pitchers for each table or something.
Random course with my buddies, it'd probably be me and my group.
I'd prefer to leave the course and go find a nice steak restaurant to treat my buddies to instead of getting random guys I don't know some drinks.

You're a good sport threeputt. I would have had to fight the urge to kick him in the jimmy.

My word. That's something you see on a movie and then say "BS, that would never happen."

I need to get a hole in one at one of the courses that doesn't serve alcohol

For reals. If I got an ace I would buy everyone one round of Big Flats.

I have 1 hole in one. It was during a round with my dad on Labor Day a few years back.
At my club, like at a lot of places, we have a hole in one club. Whoever signs up pays anyone that makes a hole in one $10. The hole in one has to be witnessed by 2 other people to count. So, if you make a hole in one and you're in the club, people will drink on you for a while. If this happens during the week without too many people around, you can profit. If it happens on a Saturday or Sunday, you're lucky to break even.

Anybody have suggestions for a course near Boston? Gonna be up there next week and it looks like I might be able to sneak out of my conference Monday afternoon.

Oh shite. It's almost time.
I need to go familiarize myself with the hole layouts.

And no one I've talked to has either haha
Luckily I have a cousin who lives up there and one of her friends is really good (and plays with George W. Bush on occasion). I met him 3 years ago, so I just sent him a hopefully not-too-creepy Facebook message asking suggestions for courses. I'm hoping he gets me on at his private club haha.
ETA: just realized I've done more work towards finding a golf course in Boston than I have on the presentation I have to give at the conference haha Priorities be a little mixed hahaha

George Wright Golf club, one of the oldest courses in the country. Really cool layout, its narrow as hell though. The club house is over 100 years old and looks like an old castle. You have to hit it if you are gonna be in Boston. Not too expensive either.

Cool, thanks. That place looks cool/
The guy I asked just told me he is a member of Red Tail, and they rent clubs for $40 and its $65 afternoon tee time on Monday... I'm halfway tempted to bring my clubs and try to play a round at each course. If my ole lady wasn't meeting me up ther on Wednesday I definitely would, but I can't play once she gets there.
I wonder if I can fit my suit and all my other shite in my carry on and check my clubs haha

Wear the suit, then change at your hotel
