I'm thinking a 6-7 iron 175-200 yards??!!

You have a 25 yard gap between your 6 and 7 irons? And my 200 yard club is my 4 iron, so I guess that's why I don't play the tips too often.

Maybe because I am not good, but even from the blues you have a lot of longer shots into some of the greens because of the wind (no trees out there) and tee strategy. I hit 3w off a lot of tees there

#2 at Atchafalaya is 250 something from the tips. We played it from the 7000 yard tees and it was 235. Think the member tees are like 210-215

I play the tips for the same reasons I find most courses have easier tee shots if you play back there

I probably should do that more often myself. It does get old having wedges and 9 irons into par 4s. Plus I could probably get my handicap up a shot or two if I did that.

Can you teach me how to hit my irons further? I'm such a short knocker with them...

No problem.

I'll be playing this weekend somewhere if you want to join up. I know you are playing Tour 18 Saturday, so if you wanna playing partner somewhere Sunday let me know.

Maybe one of these days I'll be able to say that. Nah, no chance.

Just when I think golf courses are getting too long, I see something like this and change my mind.

ETA: Holy shite...that was 4 posts in a row on TD.com of people actually admitting they don't hit it very far.

I hit my irons a decent way. 170 is 7i for me usually.

has lsudrake been around today?

I'm here. Last night was crazy with flights. Delayed on both and didn't land in Orlando until 2am.

I'm playing orange lake legends tomorrow at noon. I'm excited to see how I play. My game has been very shaky lately so it can go either way.

Course I played in Jacksonvile on Monday was a great setup at 7,000 yards.

No, it really doesn't.

I can actually score with wedges and 9-irons, not so much when I'm hitting 4 and 5 irons into par 4s.

Everywhere... seriously, that city is ate up with great golf courses.

* La Cantera Resort Course or Palmer Courses
* TPC San Antonio Resort Course (Tournament) or Canyons Course (easier)
* Oak Hills - old school golf course in the middle of the city, used to host Texas Open - beautiful layout (think Webb Park but 300x nicer)
* SilverHorn (?) - guy that used to post on here is the Pro. If you start a "San Antonio Golf" topic he might see it and jump in.
* Briggs Ranch
* Canyon Springs
* The Quarry
* River Crossing

Seriously, there are too many awesome courses there to name.
