I wasn't lighting it up, but I expected that without a real range session with them. They feel fine, but are heavier than my old irons so I need to let the club do most of the work.

yeah, a little range time with them will help fo sho. I think you'll enjoy them!

I hate to say it, but this thread doesn't help golf board efforts/hopes/dreams/aspirations.

Why?

I know BR, but I wasn't going to let that fact inhibit us from discussing golf.

I know golf tends to be filled with exaggerations, but if you watched me play from 80 on in, you would think I was a mid single digit handicap. I don't have an official handicap, but I would say it's probably around 16-18. That's how bad I hit the ball the rest of the time

I appreciate Weave's thread. By far, my favorite on TD.

It consolidates all the golf discussion in one place. I'm sure admins appreciates it though. Just goes to show we've got more class than any other subset of posters.

I liked it better when you and I started the thread for those few weeks.

It had a better vibe, for sure. More of a party atmosphere.

Weave's are all business.

Anyone have a project X 6.0 or 6.5 in their driver. I can pick up an awesome condition Ping I20, but the only thing that is keeping me from pulling the trigger is the shaft.

In my r11

I love it, helped me to get the ball down

6.0 is stiff
6.5 is xstiff

IIRC

From what I have seen it's more of a Stiff+. My swing speed is right around 105-108 so I don't think that should be an issue. I just have no knowledge of shafts so I am kind of clueless.

Weave, what are some solid shafts that I could throw in my woods. I have no idea what's good anymore

From the Advocate article about changing city park into a park...

quote:

Von Aspern said he takes students to City-Brooks Park’s golf course to teach them course etiquette.

It’s not a hard course, it’s short,” he said of the 2,300-yard, par 32, nine-hole layout.

Does he skip over #8??

not weave but all shaft companies have come a long way. Lots of very good products out right now. Value wise UST VTS line is hard to beat. Also aldila rip line is very good and in lots or pros bags. Higher price range anything diamana, fujikura, graphite design.

So, does anyone else enjoy going out on a weekday morning and playing a round by yourself as much, if not even a little more than playing with a group? I've had some free time on Wednesdays recently, so I'll go play by myself in about 2 and a half hours, work on some things on the course, and not see a soul out there. Honestly, it's one of my favorite things to do now.
