I think I remember you saying your just starting out, you don't have to worry about this now. Work on chipping and putting and learn to put the same move on the ball consistently. Work more on the short game though.

How does the Oban stand up to a heavy load? I played baseball/softball too long for a nice, easy swing.

I would say that my transition is more forceful, but I have been making an effort to smooth it out (and I hit the ball much better when I did it correctly); also, I am assuming that I am releasing the wrist cock later since I have a tendency to slice (and people generally tell me that they my hands release too late when I frick up)

Its hard to describe, the first move down is almost like a gravity move. You gotta have soft arms to load the shaft. When you transition with soft arms the angle stays. That's at least what it feels like to me.

Sadly, I think I am running out of time to say I am just starting out, but I do suck so I've got that going for me still.
I went to the range yesterday and only did chips. Started getting more consistent towards the end. I was doing a flop with a 60* my buddy gave me recently and I was hitting it great (comparatively). Then I worked on just using an 8 iron wiht a putteresque stroke to chip that god damn ball straight. Definitely should have been doing that last weekend and I could have saved myself a lot of strokes.

Fastest way to get better. I have all that down, it's just getting the ball in play off the tee and not compounding errors from there that's killing me

at a 60 gram x it should be able to handle your ss. If you were swinging pga tour average maybe need 7 or 8 x. Tiger swings a 6x tipped 1" in his driver

That's where I am. I was hitting my driver further off the tee yesterday than probably ever. But I wasn't that consistent on finding the fairway. I had terrible approach, which would lead to terrible chips, and more three putts than I've had in a long time.
