lebron piles up numbers against the worst teams, when both teams play the leagues top teams, Kobe outperforms lebron and kobe's team wins more.

scoring .7 more a game while shooting the exact same percentage, but accumulating less rebounds and assists is outperforming? it's nice that someone was finally able to track down at least one stat that kobe is close to equivalent in though

Not only that, the FG% difference is 1/100th of a point.

But the rebound difference is 2.9 per game, the assist difference is 2.4 per game, and the steals difference is .8 per game.

Like I said, if I put up those stats with no names, basically ALL of us would pick Lebron as having the better stats there.

this is just a prime example that stats don't mean everything. NBA GMs and NBA players say Kobe is the better player, what more do you need?

well for starters, the link you provided earlier was 19 GM's and it was 12-7 kobe. not exactly unanimous, and there are a lot of stupid GM's in the NBA. i have a very strong feeling that morey would take lebron over kobe in a second.

eta: stats don't mean everything, they obviously have to be weighed subjectively, but when every single meaningful statistic points to one player being significantly better than the other it's probably the truth

I want my answer question, and i've asked for it quite a few times now.

For 5 years now, Lebron has made more late game winning type shots, at a higher %, way more assists, less turnovers.

Dont tell me about GMs, tell me why YOU would want the ball in Kobe's hands knowing that.

Because Kobe is a killer

Adande: The key difference between them still was best expressed by LeBron himself in an interview with ESPN The Magazine: He doesn't have that instinct to go out and (metaphorically) kill everyone the way Kobe does. If Kobe smelled blood he'd want to dig deeper into the wound; LeBron would want to get the person a bandage. That would make LeBron more of a humanitarian. On the basketball court, it's better to be coldhearted.

I said not GMs, which kinda meant not Adande too.

I want YOUR opinion. And Kobe is a killer really doesnt fly since Lebron puts up better numbers in the clutch ANY WAY you look at it.

Here's 1 more that also refutes your point earlier about 2 or 3 point games where Kobe hits shots to extend teh lead.

Last year's super clutch, less than 2 minutes, and a 3 point game or less.

LINK

Lebron shoots better, Kobe does rebound better, Lebron gets moer assists, HUGE lead in blocks for Lebron, also leads in steals, and Kobe averages THREE times the turnovers that Lebron does in those situations.

I just want to hear why YOU think Kobe is better, but not juts saying he is a "killer" or an "assassion".

I want real reasons I can point to, and say, "Good point." Because EVERY way to possibly measure this shows Lebron is just flat out better, this year, last year, and over the past 5 seasons.

That's your best point so far on this topic.

I think Kobe is better because he scares me more. It's nothing that I can quantify, but I feel like Kobe can come down and hit 5 consecutive contested jumpers in a row late in a game, I don't think Lebron has the ability to do that.

1. Kobe has played better head to head against lebron
2. When has LeBron ever made the buzzer beater to win a playoff game? I dont care about the last few minutes, if I need a guy to get me 2-3 points, Kobe is much better (See 3pt and FT %)

shel has argued this point for 5 pages now, thrown out every stat he can possibly look up, and is still unable to accept anyone else's points or opinions, why?

he knows he's wrong, and is trying to convince not just us, but himself...

so in a way we are all wasting our time on this guy, he obviously knows more than the 25 people here posting to argue, nba gm's, nba veterans, and nba players who all if not most still say kobe is the best....

he's a kobe hater, end of story...

she3ll:

why do you care so much? i watch NBA as much as i can and havent missed many playoff games this year. i go online and read pretty much any interesting nba column on espn.com. i follow it very carefully.

and you know what? i think kobe is the best player in the league. lebron number 2. please throw out some stats to tell me im wrong. it wont matter.

just watching games over the season i think kobe is better. watching him pull up from anywhere to take difficult shots that lebron nor anybody else who EVER PLAYED for that matter would even dream of taking, and draining them. and you just shake your head and say "thats kobe." that is why kobe is better IMO. notice she3ll, IMO. not Ishe3llsO.

I dont really feel like crunching the numbers, but over the past 3 years, i'm pretty sure that Lebron has better numbers head to head, and I also think the Cavs have won more, or maybe they're tied head to head.

See a couple of those Wizards games a couple of years back.

Also see, Lebron scoring 25 straight points, including every point for the last 17 minutes of the game against one of the best defenses in the league, the Pistons, with a really shitty supporting cast.

I would argue that FG% and points per shot or more important that FT% and 3pt%, and lebron is better there.

SO, when you have no more agument, you just resort to the personal attacks. You're real cool.

Oh, and what 25 people are here arguing against me?? It actually seems pretty 50/50 for Lebron and kobe, yet you're making it out like it's 90% of the people in this thread that think Kobe or better.

If you want to make a logical point, you can try. If you want to just lob some personal attacks because you're too stupid to articulate an argument, then just don't bother responding to me.

Has there not been a few Kobe guys debating back and forth with me??? So, why dont u ask them why they care so much?

It's fun, I LOVE the debate. I've been going back and forth with a few guys here, and it's fun and healthy. You have goofs like Klark Kent who cant debate without flipping out and starting to talk shite, but the rest of the guys, it's just fun. That's why.

I'm assuming you were too young to see Michael Jordan between around 1990 to 1998??

i'm not flipping out and this isn't middle school, i'm no goof.

i'm only wondering why you're so stubborn about this, i mean they are both going to be legends there's no doubt, but when so many, other than on this board, will flat out tell you kobe is better, and you can't even acknowledge it...
