Last I checked Kobe had more rings then Lebron. I love Lebron but thats just a fact, and isn't that why they play the game? Champioships right? Not the stats. Ask Marino how important his stats are.

Obviously you do, or you wouldn't have responded. Somebody presented you hard evidence, and you rejected that evidence, insisting that your own personal judgment is right despite the facts. This is what is commonly referred to as "sticking your head in the sand."

So I can't talk bad about Kobe because you spoke well of Battier? Please. What is this thread about? This is a Kobe bashing thread. The dude acted like a spoiled fricking brat all night the other night....this when his team was in an 0-1 hole and in a relatively close game.

Again, this thread was started to bash Kobe. You get over that.

And your boy and his pals Fisher and Odom went and riled up a very good home team when his team needs a road victory to advance. Well done, guys...great foresight there.

Funny, when I or someone else does throw out stat which are FACTS, you scough at them.

But it's ok for you to completely make up a stat, 90%, and use it as fact.

Not the best way to form an argument, at all.

Don't quote me here, but I think Lebron had twice as many 40 point games this year then Kobe did.

I know he had somewhere around 9 and Kobe had somewhere around only 5 40+ games in the regular season.

Like i said, that may not be exact, i dont feel like looking it up, but kobe going off is much more rare nowadays then it used to be. You really can't dispute that.

That might have been true 6 or 7 years ago.

But Kobe hasn't been nearly as clutch as he was back in the day.

Just 1 question, I would LOVE for any guy in the Kobe camp to answer. PLEASE!!

Kobe's the best closer you say. Then, WHY over the past FIVE SEASONS, Lebron has MORE game winning shots, AND at a higher FG%???????????

I would seriously, no BS, love an honest answer to this question.

easy, the Lakers have been a better team, less close games mean less game winning shots.

Define game winning shot.

Before Pao, would you say that Kobe had a better supporting cast than Lebron??

I'm not so sure he did.

And the Lakers won LESS games this year and had a lower MOV.

Define game winning shot.

LINK

quote:

Game Winning Shot Opportunity = 24 seconds or less left in the game, team with the ball is either tied or down by 1 to 2 points.

Why use this definition?

1. With 24 seconds or less, then it truly is a "last possession" situation potentially
2. With a margin from tied to down 2, the team can take the lead with a made basket (including 3's)
3. By excluding a down 3 situation, we don't have the "gimme two point buckets" that defenses will sometimes yield to the quick bucket/intentional foul strategy option you often see exercised.

Obviously though this definition means a shot may not actually be a game winner -- it may only tie a game (if down two points) or it may allow enough time for the opponents to get a game winning shot of their own. Still it seems a reasonable compromise.

Sounds like a pretty solid definition. And if Kobe was TRULY the best closer in the game, why isn't he shooting EASILY a higher FG% than Lebron in THAT situation????

I just want someone who thinks Kobe's the best closer to give me a honest answer to that question.

Also in that link, take note of the assists/turnovers by Lebron and Kobe, not just the fact that Lebron has made more at a higher %

meh, the cavs margin is significantly better this year. the lakers was much better last year, but the other three seasons are basically a wash. there shouldn't be much of a statistical difference in the number of close games each has played in the past 5 years

Perception is reality.

Lebron may shoot a higher % Kobe for that specific scenario, but how many more times has kobe stretched a 2 point lead to 4 or a 4 point lead to 6 with under a minute.

Fine. But people always say, down 2, who u want having the ball in there hands.

Well, over the past 5 seasons, LBJ scores more, higher FG%, more assists, and less turnovers.

So, why would u want teh ball in Kobe's hands???

LOL.

Look at that 1st link again.

Kobe shoots .469 and lebron shoots .468.

Throw in rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals, I have NO IDEA how you can look at those stats and tell me kobe was better.

I mean, look at them, you provided the link, and it's pretty clear, if you took the names off the 2 guys, 99% of guys would pick Lebron's numbers.

This is the link you provided I'm referring to:
