that's because you are either stupid or you let an emotional bias cloud your judgement. this is basically what you're saying: "i watch kobe score fewer points while shooting worse, pull in fewer rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals but he just looks better because after missing three in a row he can hit a difficult shot". awesome

I do think by the time Kobe is done, his name will fit right in the top 5 discussion though.

people don't like change. kobe has been the consensus best player for so long that i think it's difficult for people, especially people who don't follow the NBA closely, to accept that he's not the best any longer. i suspect that by the end of next season it will pretty much be accepted as fact. kobe has slightly decreased in play every season the last few years while lebron has improved his game. if the disparity between their numbers grows any wider i really don't see how even the biggest kobe fans will be able to argue for him any longer

That's my thinking, especially in regards to the clutch play.
Because, when Lebron came into the league, he did struggle a lot in clutch situations in his 1st year or 2.
AND that was a couple of years after Kobe winning 3 straight titles with the Lakers and having quite a few big time clutch moments.
So, people automatically thought Kobe was MUCH more clutch than Lebron, and at THAT time, they were correct in doing so.
But the past few seasons, Lebron has been more clutch than Kobe. Every possible way of measuring that says so.

i like who i want to like a-hole and i know many people would agree with me that kobe is better. FG % does not mean shite when comparing the players because of the different shots they take.
kobe is better than lebron, beasted him this season one on one with a fricked up finger and a flu or whatever he had.
and how about this one...when the U.S. team was in trouble against spain (the only time in the tournament), the ball went to kobe and he hit the clutch shots in the gold medal game. look it up.

eta: lebron is also outperforming him by an even wider margin in the playoffs

Ok, If I conced that, you basically HAVE to concede that Lebron has been more clutch than Kobe this year, and over the past 5 seasons.
