Gotta be something simple, that puts a stop to this nonsense. A team shouldn’t get a full timeout after every single play, that completely negates any momentum factor.

How about if you’re sooo injured that you can’t get off the field, you have to sit for the remainder of the series.

Start within the last 2 minutes of each half, and expand as necessary.

If a player goes down he can’t play the rest of the drive. Maybe quarter

In game, player has to stay out for the rest of that series and the next two series if an injury timeout is called for them on the field. For player safety.

Then review it after the game. If determined to be fake, suspend the player for the next conference game and fine the head coach $25K for the first offense and an additional $5K ($30K, $35K, $40K, etc.) for each one thereafter.

No place in sports for this!

I want them to penalize this as much as the next guy because it’s so much bullshite but I imagine higher ups are scared to flirt with anything that could be seen as questioning player safety/health.

Making them sit out a certain amount of plays is FOR player safety. If you drop down on the field and stop play, then you probably need a breather and some time on the sideline for the trainers to check you out. You know, for your own safety.

Exactly, sell it as a player safety issue. I would say make it a set amount of time on the game clock. 10 or 15 minutes.

If you do it till end of drive or end of quarter you could still abuse it.

If you don’t want the player to have to sit you have to burn a TO. Easy.

Make the player sit out like targeting penalties. Make them sit out the rest of the game. If it happens in the second half, they have to sit for the first half of the next game. You know…for safety.

I could get behind some kind of post game review fine/suspension process. It could definitely help curtail the more obvious offenses.

If you’ve got to sit out a play for a piece of equipment coming off you should, at the very least, have to sit the next 3 for an injury.

Rest of series or minimum of 5 plays that would carry over to next series.

it was bad when rams had greatest show on turf

giants litterally had 12 players fall, many after another player pushed them to fall, while rams were driving, and it was a fricking early season, no one gives a shite game.

it was embarrassing

Just charge the team a timeout. If they have no timeouts, then it's a 5 yard penalty.

It'll serve the dual purpose to encourage teams and players to be more preventative about things like cramps too.

So make it about safety and give them a break.

In an abundance of caution, any player who c a not make it off the field due to injury and causes an injury timeout must remain in the medical tent or in the locker room for 15 minutes of game time.

Close, but gotta make it a slightly more marginal penalty. Ineligible for return for “10-15” plays to ensure a thorough evaluation is how I would word it if I was the League/PA folks.
