We can tell that the camera was a long-range telephoto lens. Maybe they just had really bad luck to run into a professional photographer at the resort who recognized him and couldn't mind his business but Occam's razor by a mile (particularly given the documented history of his wife being a whore) is PI hired by the husband

that's not how that works. He'd have to do more to prove that their hanging out was platonic, provide context missing from those photos (good luck), get their alleged involved friends (mysteriously missing from photos) to attest to it, get spouses to agree with them, etc. Add the "actual malice" requirement of a public figure and that's a waste of time suing even if he's innocent Also, the second he sues he opens himself up to discovery. Text messages in this context would not be an aspirational ask by the defendants, they would 100% get access to them
The only way he wins any suit is if he's not actually fricking her
Pro-tip: he's fricking her. He basically admitted it today. You don't need to have "a difficult conversation with family" if you aren't

For him to sue, he would have to go to court and all kinds of investigations are done and it would need to be proven he didn’t have sex with Russini and the media KNEW he didn’t have sex with her

The cheating part absolutely is women's gossip and nobody should care. I don't care who's fricking around on their spouses.
The conflict of interest part, though, is 100% sports related. Rusinni was a top NFL insider at the biggest, supposedly most "legitimate" outlet in sports journalism. If she's fricking her sources and subjects, leading to biased reporting, it's a huge ethical dilemma for that industry and calls into question all sorts of things.
A lot of people already hold the opinion that reporters are biased, so when The Athletic claims to be the beacon of modern journalism but their insiders are doing this... yeah, that's a story.
