I mean, the kid was a dumbass and Darwin won out, but tony Stewart has a good bit of responsibility in this.

They were in the cool down lap. Dirt tracks dont have a set speed its more of a leader sets the pace type deal. Its all done by flag mans discretion. He will ethier tell pole sitter to speed it up or slow ut Down

But they were way before ths point. They were in the cool down lap where cars are still going at pretty good speed

Every track will.make drivers sign waivers that they are not responsible for injuries.Every waiver, every drivers meetings, and often rules posted a staging gate have a dont get on track plastered everywhere. Growing up on diry racing saw many white trash fights on a race track. Even those r ednecksknew to notgo in front of moving cars

Completely understand that, but does that waiver invalidate the actual law?

No charges will be filed. Civil suit MAYBE but even that will be hard to prove and say Ward wasn't at fault for causing his own death. Especially as someone said considering they all sign waivers and know the rules.

Is there a special race track clause in the vehicular manslaughter law that precludes tony from getting arrested regardless of intent?
Huh?

A cool down lap, that took Stewart an entire lap to cool down? Caution waived right after the accident. Shouldn't he have had the entire lap to "cool down"

The sheriff has came out and said it is not a criminal investigation.

Nothing in the video proves he "gassed it".

On the cool down lap?

Again, it's okay to be wrong sometimes.

Does anyone know if Tony Stewart was tested for drugs or alcohol after the incident?

Who the frick walks out on the track? Those cars had to be going 60 mph plus even under caution. I don't watch racing, so I might be missing something, but that guy was a retard.

He was wearing a dark suite, against a dark road at night and Stewart was coming around a turn. There is no way he saw him in time. With all the other stuff going on, Stewart couldn't have saw him until it was too late.

Looks to me that Stewart was gonna spray the guy but didn't expect him to walk any further down the track

Plus TS was way ahead of the wreck when the flag came out so it wasn't a complete lap for him by the time he made it back to the wreck and ward.

I gotta be honest, I'm just thoroughly confused by some of the opinions I am seeing on this thread.

A guy left the relative safety of his car that was in the wall and intentionally walked directly into oncoming "traffic." Specifically, he turned to his right and walked down the slope and got almost directly in front of Tony Stewart's car.

I just don't get it.
