what were those bright reflector lines on his suit?

They are down his sides and he has the front of his body facing TS. Also, a little bit of reflecting tape in a dimly lit area isn't what I would be risking my life on but that's just me I guess.

If you watch the video with sound, it's clear he mashed the throttle right before he hit the other driver

I gotta be honest, I'm just thoroughly confused by some of the opinions I am seeing on this thread.

Basically some people hate TS that much and WANT him to be guilty and have his life destroyed. Evidence be damned.

No it's not. He could've mashed the gas to avoid a crazy mother fricker running out in front of him. Don't assume.

Based off just the reports it sounded bad for Tony. After seeing the video, it doesnt add up. For all we know the guy may have tried to get in the car with him and fell out. They will be hard to find Tony for and type of negligence.

I don't think that is the case in this thread at all.

It is kind of shitty that he doesn't regard human life enough to take a day off after, accident or not

Is it? Because there were no other cars on the track? Or cars that were even closer to the camera? Or because you saw him accelerate?

This thread is beyond confusing to me. Why on earth would TS run over someone on purpose to put his career and life in jeopardy? I know he is a hot head but come on people

The sheriff can say whatever he wants. It's the decision of the district attorney and/or grand jury to decide if it is a criminal matter

No you didn't. The shot barely pans back in time to see the collision which is at the edge of the frame. You can't see TS's car prior.

How do you know it wasn't one of the other cars on the track?

Not that it's any kind of excuse and if TS really did have criminal intentions then he needs to get what he deserves, but man that guy is a fricking idiot for walking out in the middle of the race. He was already having to dodge cars to get there.

What do you want to bet that the DA won't even convene a grand jury over this and will side with the Sheriff?

Hell, even a civil suit would be hard to prove IMO. Ward is at fault in this more so than anyone else.

I'm curious to see this GoPro video that Tony had in his car. If it is deleted or destroyed, obstruction of justice charges need to be brought against whoever took custody of that car post crash

Gotta side with Stewart here. I don't see any way a prosecutor could unanimously convince a jury beyond any reasonable doubt that Stewart intentionally or even recklessly hit that kid. Criminal law is not a 51% sure game. It's more like 95% sure. That video will be the most significant evidence at trial. Could any of you say with 95% certainty that Stewart intentionally or recklessly hit him? You certainly couldn't say it was premeditated.

Also in a civil suit, New York is a pure comparative negligence state. After damages for the injury were determined, the kid's family could only collect whatever percentage a jury says was the fault of Stewart. If I were a juror I would probably award no damages or would find Stewart 5% negligent and the kid 95% negligent.
