There has never been a successful independent minor league professional sports league in the U.S.

They are all complete failures unless heavily subsidized by their parent league.

No one gives a shite about minor league sports. This is why the professionalization of college sports is stupid. People like college sports to support their school. Take that away and it's just another shitty minor league.

Still would prefer the Arena League of 20 years ago, that’s a different product and the quality of play drop off isn’t quite so glaring. XFL/USFL is just bad and boring.

This was realistically the only path forward.

Just a creative way to burn more money. Spring football is a loser, always will be. Just more lipstick on a pig.

Could work with promotion/relegation.

Example: Americans buying up shitty English soccer teams to see if they can pump them up.

Is the XFL real football or do they still try to be like that 2000s XFL league with wrestling moves and shite? I haven’t watched any of it.

Nobody knows because nobody watches it. In the spring, the last thing I want to do is sit on the couch and watch TV. It is too nice outside for that.

There's no route forward, except bankruptcy.

I've really enjoyed the USFL, but I have not been able to warm up to the XFL. I hope this goes more in the USFL direction.

Agree. And the USFL was profitable last year, XFL lost a lot of money. XFL went more for "name" guys, USFL had better overall talent and it showed.
