Depth or not, that's a major blow to their game plan.

With McKnight, yes. Because while Stafon Johnson has at least been named the No. 1 at times since last year, McKnight served notice in the Rose Bowl that he is really the go-to runner. On the other hand, they still have plenty of good RBs.

At QB, it could be a blessing in disguise. Sanchez isn't a proven commodity yet as a starter, although he should do well.

There's an interesting story on ESPN in which Pete Carroll is trying to bullshite the media into believing that Aaron Corp might start in front of Mustain. I don't believe that for a minute and if Mustain gets off to a great start, Sanchez may end up the No. 2 when he's healthy.

All of this disappoints me. I don't want to hear any excuses.

It would be funny if they killed yall without McKnight or Sanchez. Talk about never being put in another BCS bowl game again.

If I was setting the odds in Vegas (that would be nice huh), I would be hard-pressed to call this one anything other than even or a one-point spread with tOSU as the favorite.

It was clear last year that Ohio St. should be improved this year. Almost all the key returnees are back and there is at least one new face who I am expecting huge things from (Ross Homan).

...tOSU wins this one - it's their "do-over" Natl Championship equivalent game...they WANT IT BAD ..
and i say they get it! Yow-za!

Is this a good thing?

There's too much emphasis on returning starters in college football. A mediocre returning starter is nothing to get excited about.

LSU proved last year that you can lose several key starters and still be the best team in the country.

This reminds me of Texas Tech. Experts are saying they will be a threat this year. Great offense and returning a lot of starters on defense. They don't understand returning a lot of shitty players is not necessarily a good thing.

SC's a 4.5 point favorite FWIW

tOSU won't be able to effectively move the ball against USC's D. They might win but I would be surprised if they do. If Zook's Illini speed gave tOSU D problems, lord only knows what USC will bring to the table.

Will Tressel wear the damn vest in LA?

They finished second in the nation. That's not too mediocre.

Not sure what FWIW means but how can anyone have odds on the game when USC plays at VA in the opener and I am sure the Bucks have some cupcake set up before the big game.

Does it matter?
I mean, I guess I'm more interested in the actual game than what those on the sidelines are wearing.
Maybe it's just me?
