I'm sure they did but they're so used to playing target golf on courses that really are not tough for them.
But understand the USGA does this to all courses in the open. They make you use your whole game.
I mean Bethpage the greens are too fast. They have complained about every open except the old traditional courses they've played 1000 x
The US Open is supposed to be the hardest course they play all year. But I guess they want scores like the John Deere Classic

The difference is all of the commentators are complaining with them.

Yet how many of the commentators have played the course?
They like what they know. They hate what they don't.
Chambers Bay is going to be a regular on the USGA rotation. They built the course basically for the USGA. It's the Valhalla equivalent

Well, I doubt they play it here again.
That should tell you something.

Complaints about the course are pretty lame
18 as a par 4 is stupid. They should have played 1 as a 4 and 18 as a 5 all week but Davis wanted the 72nd hole of the Open to be a tough par.
The greens with less poa are fine. The greens with poa are what you would expect. You get bumpiness on poa greens. We see it as US Opens at Pebble. The mounds and tiers of the greens are tricky but its the challenge of the course.
Reed hit it to a spot on 18 green you cant hit it to. If you go through the bowl past that pin you should know its a difficult two putt, that said it isn't impossible to get it close. Reed didn't have to play it off the mound left. Mickelson hit a similar putt on a fairly straight forward line and got it to three feet. He missed the 3 footer but Phil gonna Phil.

I'm not gonna go as far as you. It looks ridiculous out there. But ya look like a baby back bitch when it's all unicorns and rainbows when you're -5 then unfair when you shoot over par 24 hours later.

Am okay with some of the complaints. But what I'm not okay with is the incessant complaints of guys who admitted not to play the course. Davis told them a 2 or 3 rounds wasn't going to prep them.
As I said, they hate what they don't know.

Yeah yeah yeah.
Hey, how much trouble is it to get perfect greens out there? Is this just a product of them being lazy? Could the USGA have strong armed them a year ago into having luscious greens?

Phil with Nats was magic. He shot well. Maybe she'll give him an "energy boost"

I am starting to like how Duval is settling in with his work on the "Live From" shows. He gets more comfortable each week....and has some great insight.

It's the US Open at a new course. Is any amount of time going to prep them?
I think that's kind of irrelevant.

A course that's been open since at least 2009.
They could've played it some time.
As I said I am blaming them while others are making excuses.
I know we disagree on this point. But they're professionals.

So the course is crazy, but the pin placements have been in collection areas on many holes. Are they going to break out the clown show hole locations on Sunday?
A full on melt by the field would be fun to watch just once.
