If we hadn't spotted them two Bornsteins, we could've had that match. Also, the Dutch were at full strength, and we were missing key players (and had a good performer taken out on a cheap challenge in the first half).

while i agree with most of this, the dutch did not have van persie

Did Henderson tell you that?

they have 1/2 of a spot. they play in a play-off against other teams in a 1/2 spot position from other confederations. depending upon the cycle, it could be an asian team, but they don't qualify through asia.

All in all, not a bad showing without 4-5 of our starters missing. Questionable PK given IMO...Bornsuck does grab his arm barely, but Sneijer sold the shite out of it and should be nominated for an award. Typical deflected goal once again against Howard. Having watched a bulk of Everton games this year, this is like the 123rd time this year that Howard allows an unlucky deflected goal.

Beasley was our best player IMO....did I just type that? Bradley did OK...Did Landy even play, cuz it didn't seem like it. Bornsuck is really bad and was used all game long.

It's clear that the US is better when they are actually trying to score. Let's hope they figure it out so the don't find themselves in bad situations in the upcoming tournament.

Beasley put on a refreshing performance, compared to the last few times he's been capped.

I'd say Bradley or Jozy were our MotM. Howard was as solid as ever when he actually had a say in deflecting the ball.

What did he say

"Just because a bunch of subs were introduced and they looked good at the end doesn't mean this was a good performance."

He needs to fricking die, even if he has half a point. There were several positives to take away from this game.

WTF are you talking about what federation are we better than? Oceana but they qualify in Asia so none really.

Asia's federation isn't remotely special.

North Korea qualified through the AFC, I think that's all that needs to be said.

He provided a nice spark. I think he should make the trip.

Bradley did OK

I thought he did better than OK. For periods he was our best player. His distribution was nice, his positioning could have been better, but he was a bit more controlled than he usually is.

Bedoya didn't do too bad. I don't think Bradley knows how to use or trusts Torres. Findley doesn't look like a real option. EJ was EJ.

We won't make it out of the group stage if Bornstein is a starter. There are very few redeeming qualities about his play.

Alexi Lalas is the worst person on ESPN. That includes Stuart Scott, Hubert Davis, Dick Vitale, Mike Patrick, and Brent Musberger.

Edu, Beasley, and Jozy were the best players for the US today, along with Howard.

I hate Bornstein, but the second goal wasn't his fault. He did what any defender would do in that situation, and it just took a bad bounce. His first allowed goal was simply moronic though. He should never be starting for the US again.

Findley and Johnson looked completely clueless, as always. Bedoya at least showed some potential for the US, unlike those two. Howard did a nice job in goal, while Demerit was a solid defender. I'm glad that he was subbed out though because he looked worn out and bit injured.

They said that Holden had a shin contusion. Doesn't sound serious. How long is that out for?

If he was out more than 2 or 3 weeks, I'd be surprised.

Edu was much better than Torres today.

I doubt Bornstein starts in SA. 2 of the 5 best defenders weren't available for the US today. However, if he plays against Turkey or the Czechs, I will seriously question Bradley's sanity.
