Torres was alright. Didn't do much in particular. He did have our best chance in the first half, but his shot went about a foot over the goal. I thought Edu played better than Torres today.
Beasley looked great. He had a great free kick that Boca latched on to for the lone goal for us. Had several good runs as well
Altidore looked great. Fired a rocket that their keeper just barely shot. Played well holding the ball and setting up the offense. Made a sick back heel flick to get by a defender but couldn't connect on a pass to an open US player. Overall he looked great.
For about 85 minutes we on the defensive/play was in the midfield. Last 5+stoppage we were relentless, had several chances that we either couldn't connect on the final pass, or their keeper made a good stop.
Overall I think a good result, given our injuries.
Bornstein = the suck BTW, but you probably already knew (he gave up a PK with a douche of a foul...should have had a handball in the box that for some reason the ref didn't call...and their 2nd goal was a deflection off of Bornstein...though that was unlucky more than anything)

Meh, The Dutch played better throughout the game, but going into the game we knew the Dutch would control ball possession. For 80 minutes we just kicked the ball out of the back and lost control. Bornstein got taken out in the 85th minute and evertyhing change seriously. We started connecting on multiple passes moving foward, played some nice balls into the box and some other things. Beasley had a free kick front a yard outside the box and kicked it right to the GK that could have tied it in stoppage time.
Jones was at the practice facility and hanging out with the team the last couple of days so looks like a good sign for sure.

I mean you can't really say. Sneijder may have been able to make something out of the PK run had Bornstein not fouled him. Either way it was a boneheaded foul.
The Dutch played a bit conservatively as well, especially in the second half. I think they could have pushed forward more if they didn't have the cushion.
They did dominate play, but didn't really have any real chances (their two goals weren't actually real chances either. The foul on Sneijder happened when Sneijder was going away from the goal,a nd we had several defenders in the box...the Huntelaar shot that was deflected in looked like no real threat either. Howard had it locked, and it looked like it was going over)
Jones is JUST starting to train again. He keeps having setbacks in his recovery. Good thing is he traveled from Germany to be with the team during training

I think Beas was trying to think to much. He was anticipating the keeper to jump more towards the near post when he was going to kick it but the kepper didn't move. But agreed, Torres coulda drained it.

Actually if Beasley hit it a little softer, Altidore was making a run to the back door and was just a second late, but could have latched on. (Though, obviously Beasley was trying to shoot)

Yea, saw that as well, Jozy was definitely frustrated afterwards...he was unmarked because everyone knew beasley would shoot.

Set pieces have always been a key to US success. It's one thing we do fairly well on a consistent basis. The only thing we can do better than most teams is outrun them. If we could just learn how to fricking possess the ball, and build an attack. We live off of counter attacks and set pieces.

We lost in Holland to one of the best five teams in the world 2-1. With more starters out than they did. I like the result and if you don't you are a Nega-American.
ETA: Do you really think that adding Van Persie means more to the Dutch squad than Gooch, Davies and Dempsey would to our side? You are an Alan Rainman type rahtard if you believe that.
