There are 13 schools dividing up $270 Million, and they only get 5.7 mil each?

Am I just really bad at math?

Also, If Boise wants to play this schedule every year:
1-2 Big 12 Teams
3-5 Pac 12 Teams
1-2 Big 10 Teams
Vs Wyoming, Idaho, Utah State, BYU, and another Mountain West Team

I would be happy to let them into the Playoff if they go 12-0.

Well they are like 2% of the US population. But overall BYU can do things differently since they have the churches financial backing. The tuition there is very very cheap for a private school.

Plus they get their own bowl money. So say they go to a NY6 they keep it all no sharing, no matter the bowl. That’s the deal the MWC gave them to come back.

Now add the other money from sharing. Boise is going to tell the MWC what to do. Pretty dumb to movef from Boise Disney connection. The MWC also has CBSSN getting game 2

That would be brutal for Boise State athletics and would really hurt their recruiting. Alright, guys time to go to Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, or West Virginia for all our road games. Also how many conferences are bending over to add a team from Idaho. In the end, it always comes down to money and I just don't see Idaho adding that much value. I could be wrong though because Boise is starting to boom because people are leaving Washington because it's getting way too expensive to live there.

Looks great but hard to see Boise leaving their sweetheart deal to join. They’d make less money and would probably become a 4 loss type team with the big jump in competition.

Saying Boise St isn’t a good addition to the Big12...or any conference, because of the size of the city of Boise, is the dumbest argument I’ve ever heard. Boise would literally be a bigger market than 80% of the current Big 12. Only Texas, Oklahoma and TCU play in cities with a bigger market.

Boise = Population 205,000 - Metro 710,000

Other Current Big 12 Markets:

Lubbock = Population 255,000 - Metro 315,000

Waco = Population 135,000 - Metro 271,000

Ames = Population 58,000 - Metro 90,000

Morgantown = Population 30,000 - Metro 137,000

Lawrence = Population 96,000 - Metro 117,000

Stillwater = Population 49,000 - Metro 80,000

Manhattan = Population 53,000 - Metro 127,000

Boise is one of the fastest growing cities in the West and all of America. BSU has an enrollment of 25,000 students and growing. BSU would be a GREAT addition for the AAC, Big 12 or the PAC. The AAC should do everything they can to add them and BYU. That would strengthen the AACs argument as the premier G5/P6 argument.

Boise State is vastly overestimating the "weight" they have in negotiations.

No media market, no huge alumni base, no tradition beyond the last 15 years.

They can go be another irrelevant independent like BYU if they like.

I literally just posted Boise market size. My goodness. Boise is literally bigger than half the cities in the Big 12 and PAC.

In the streaming world we're in now, TV market size means less as cable TV slowly fades away in importance. The value of your brand means more, and Boise State football is a brand people like to watch. But just how valuable is that brand to the Big XII? Not as much as it is to the MWC, that's for sure.

Boise is an incredible town. Not easy to get to but that is getting better as the city grows.

I don't see that happening.

FSU is about to get a lot better fast.

The rest of the conference needs to step it up tho.

I'd love to see Big 12 take Boise. Then add Louisiana Tech and ULL to go to 14. Would be interesting to see what happens if LSU isn't the only P5 in the state.

It won't happen, but I'd love to see it.

You’re looking at cities and not states, and only looking at one sport too.

Don't know about that.Virginia,not exactly a CFB powerhouse came in and took their coach.BYU fans were pissed and continually bitched about how cheap their athletic dept is.

Streaming still isn't a big player as far as CFB viewing but I agree with you about local TV markets being way overvalued.

WGAS if only 100,000 are watching Boise State in Boise if 3X that many are watching in NY or Chicago?

It's the reason Mike Slive signed the CBS deal to begin with.He wanted exposure all over the country...in non SEC markets.

Wasn’t it Kramer who negotiated the original CBS deal for both football and basketball?

But Boise needs to hold onto Disney because the MWC allowed them to do so and have signed contracts.

Ignorant on every board. Impressive. You're too stupid to follow that we were discussing BYU there. Impressive.
