Seems like some of this is to attempt to shake off some of the stragglers that don't bring much football financial value to the major conferences but are grandfathered in. The major players in the Pac 10 obviously don't want to negotiate a deal with Oregon st and washington st in the mix. Same with the ACC. There's a few bottom dwellers in the SEC who probably think they are eternally safe that should have their head on a little more of a swivel. Because there may come a day when Texas, Texas AM, LSU, Alabama, Georgia would like to know why they are receiving the same exact money at Missouri, Ole Miss, Miss St, and Vanderbilt.

Washington and Oregon have options.
Those three are completely fricked if they don’t find a landing spot. The former two making overtures about a move caused this even if they don’t end up actually leaving.

Craziest thing is the PAC could have killed the Big 12 years ago but thought they were better than all those schools and now they are on the end of the knife.
