For the second.

The ACC appears to be about ready to tear itself apart over the TV deal.

Can I just say what an absolute phenomenal job Brett yormark has done as big 12 commissioner. Everyone thought the big 12 was dead in the water when they lost Texas and OU and believed he was just giving lip service when he said he would make sure the big 12 isn’t going anywhere
Genuinely not sure what he’s done for this praise. A rival conference got dismantled and some of its mid-level programs (with zero negotiating leverage) need a new home and he happens to be next door. He’s arguably the only option for a school like Colorado

Not saying he’s been anywhere near the failure of his predecessor re alignment but he kinda lucked into things

Fast forward 24 months and this dude has now turned the big 2 race between the big 10 and the sec to the big 3.
I guess in terms of # of eventual teams, sure. But looking at the composition it’s neither top-heavy nor deep, and it’s further recently gotten diluted with mid-majors

and he only still has a conference because of the complete incompetence of Kliavkoff

ESPN isn't going to pay the SEC to add ACC teams when ESPN is already getting ACC teams on their network for cheap.

They will if they fear Clemson and FSU going to the Big 10.
I keep seeing a lot of downvotes on posts like this

It's probably from people that want to see Texas in the Cotton Bowl, Alabama in the Sugar, and Oklahoma in the Orange.
Well, the sad fact is, that isn't going to happen anymore. None of those bowls mean shite, they're simply a title someone will post to a playoff semifinal or final, in addition to a sponsor. And odds are, those three teams won't all be in the playoffs, because they're going to be knocking each other off beforehand.

BUT: there's a good chance we see 2 of the three make it in any given year, and those that do will have the financial resources such that their team will outclass damn near any playoff opponent, when it does make it.

That's the model that is drawing teams to the Big 10, and what makes the SEC a favorite. Anyone NOT the big 2 conferences is going to play to get in (and get beat).

Looking on the field, the ACC has the edge over the Big 10; but you're talking 30 mil vs closer to 100 mil. That edge will deteriorate. Only option is to jump to the SEC and hope that pushes the value up, so you can continue to compete.

I'm guessing OSU and WSU will end up in MW. Does mountain west get their conference winner in the playoff? OSU or WSU should win the conference almost every year and could get in

Hearing now there is a possibility B12 could go to 18 and bring in ASU/Utah/WSU/ORSU all at reduced shares for the remainder of the new contract and give them full membership at the next contract. Developing now so stay tuned.

Something would be so satisfying watching those Bay Area fricks get shut out by everyone

Stanford could possibly be an independent in football and be in some pissant west coast conference for other sports.

Cal? They are fricked six ways from Sunday given what they owe on their stadium. They would probably rather can football completely but can’t due to the debt.

Don’t think they really WANT Wazzu or Oregon State, but that would be a nice “frick you” to Cal and Stanford.

That's not a new thing. Nebraska/Maryland/Rutgers are still getting reduced shares from the Big 10.
