How the hell is Argentina ranked in the top 10. I know the FIFA rankings are a joke but come on.

The Political Talk section was pathetic last week.

Btw, here is the formula for the 2006 World Cup seeding LINK

Somehow the number 7, 9, and 16 teams were all in the same group which directly contradicts the formula though

Great to see Jimmy Conrad back in the picture after:

A. Disappearing in '07 and '08.

B. Reappearing in '09, only to get cold-cocked out of the Gold Cup.

Want to see Frankie and Conor Casey get the hero's welcome in DC.

The good news keeps on coming. Fatih Terim has resigned from the Turkish National Team after the final qualifier. Now it's time for a real coach.

If I wasn't opposed to the dancing banana smiley on principle, I might even use it (assuming they hire someone decent).

A Turk at the helm of the USA? Somehow, I don't see that working out on a few levels - as good a coach as he is.

As bad we rag on Bob Bradley, he has the highest winning percentage of any US manager ever. So props to Bob for getting it done , albeit in an ugly fashion. Once again the Connor Casey decision was outstanding. Now about Bornstein...

Sorry, my wording wasn't that great. I was speaking from the perspective of a fan for the Turkish national team. Terim had a great run in Euro 2008, but he encourages the worst tendencies of the Turkish players (to be aggressive on the pitch not only in terms of trying hard for 90 minutes, but also cursing at referees, fighting opponents, etc). He also has had some very questionable roster selection. He has also sabotaged the career of Ersun Yanal, one of the only soft-spoken, intelligent coaches in Turkish soccer. I just think that it's best for the future of Turkish soccer to go in another direction.

However, I probably shouldn't have posted that in a thread about the US soccer team because that really doesn't make sense.

La Paz is always a tough game for the road team because of the elevation, and I don't think Brazil really cared all that much.

Does anyone know the yellow card rule for the Costa Rica game? It might give Rogers and Cooper a chance to start on Wednesday.

Personally, wouldn't be surprised at all to see a guy like Scolari grab that job.

Chile qualified too. Looks like the Argentina-Uruguay loser (if there is one) will play in the play off.

Do you think your team will mail it in against Ecuador? I wouldn't blame them at all if they did.
