UFC 306 Main Event On ESPN+ PPV:
135 lbs.: UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O’Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili
UFC 306 Main Card on ESPN+ PPV (10 p.m. ET):

145 lbs.: Brian Ortega vs. Diego Lopes

125 lbs.: Ode Osbourne vs. Ronaldo Rodríguez
UFC 306 Prelims Card on ESPNN/ESPN+ (8 p.m. ET):
135 lbs.: Irene Aldana vs. Norma Dumont
155 lbs.: Ignacio Bahamondes vs. Manuel Torres
115 lbs.: Yazmin Jauregui vs. Ketlen Souza

UFC 306 Early Prelims Card on ESPN+ (7:30 p.m. ET):
135 lbs.: Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Aoriqileng
I wish that they had loaded this up a little more. That’s not to say that these fights won’t deliver. But it would have been nice to have some bigger names on what was billed as a historic event. How can you do a Mexican card and not have Brandon Moreno, but then put him on a fight night in Canada of all places.
I guess the sphere is the real show. It will be interesting to see what they do and if it lives up to the hype. Dana talked about it being a story type lead up talking about Mexican combat sports thru each fight. I think he also talked about scenes happening during the fight. That’s the intriguing part to me. Imagine a jailhouse fight type scene with a Nate Diaz vs poirier. I think something like that would be awesome and add to the experience. Maybe because it is about Mexico they will do a background that would be reminiscent of a Mayan type battle or competition.
Either way we will see what they come up with.

Dana will use that opportunity to put Jon Jones highlights while the fights are happening.

Pretty hilarious that Dana trolled those media frickheads. I don’t mind the stipe jones fight but for some reason a lot of people seem
To hate it. I look at it like a legends fight.

Lot of fans are hating on this Sphere event. Ticket prices have tanked, from what I understand. I don't think it'll live up to the hype unless you're in the arena. Not sure the broadcast will be able to capture that experience. I think the ticket sales are being blamed on the card, but the card isn't bad and I think it's the economy and the fact that it's just expensive to be an MMA fan that's causing the issues.
Luke Thomas did a long breakdown of O'Malley's takedown defense. He's good, but so is Merab, and I think Merab may get a lot of 'control time' on the ground, even if O'Malley escapes eventually. Big question is if and when O'Malley catches Merab with something like a left hand.
Grasso v Shevchenko should be good. I was shocked Valentina lost the first fight. But, she threw that back kick from close range and Alexa pounced, took her back, and that was it. I think Valentina was winning up to that point. Saw an interview with Grasso - she's completely fluent in English, and I don't remember her being fluent in the past. Actually, when she first appeared, it seems her interviews were always in Spanish. Something has changed about Valentina. It may be the long layoff and having to get a couple surgeries. I don't think she's ever had a long break in her career till now.

Valentina got completely robbed in their 2nd fight. Split decision my arse. That was the only fight in recent memory as bad as the DDP decision over Strickland. Hoping Valentina takes back what should rightfully have been hers at the last Mexican Independence Day UFC card.

Jones/Stipe is 5 years too late. Fans want to see a 50/50 fight with excitement that is Jones vs Aspinall. It’s the best fighting the best. Jones vs Stipe is a forgone conclusion. I don’t mind the Legend vs Legend fight but don’t include the HW title especially if both going to retire after the fight. Stipe doesn’t deserve a TS with his last win is how long ago?

Yeah the production is going to be great for those in attendance, but for the rest of us watching this will just be another UFC ppv.

Everyone can have their own opinion but stipe is the goat hw. Plenty of guys have had undeserved title shots or a title shot after a loss. It’s my opinion that either jones or stipe have done enough for the sport to have this matchup. Both two of the best to ever do it.
Aspinall will get his shot. He is very impressive.

I don’t have tickets yet was hoping they would drop a little more. It will be interesting to see how everything that the sphere offers is tied together to the experience. The sound, haptics, visuals, etc.

Lopes works Ortega right? Was pissed this fight was scrapped initially.

Man I think this is a tough fight for lopes. Ortega is a fricking dog. Lopes had a lot to deal with last fight but Dan Ige on like 30 minutes notice almost beat him.
Should be a good fight I’m leaning Ortega but I like lopes and his future. For sure we will find out if he is for real or not after this fight.

It's not a weak card, but I agree for how they had advertised this event it needed bigger names on it, even if they weren't Mexican. Also, it's such a "small" card. While I enjoy the speed and action of lighter weight classes, I know I'm not the only person in the world who really wants to see some bigger guys throwing bombs or forcing their will. There's nothing on this card over 155, and only two fights at that class. At least put a token middleweight fight on it.
I take shits that are bigger than 75% of the fighters on this card soaking wet.
In anycase, I've already bought it just for the spectacle of the Sphere, and there really should be some quality action. Grasso and Shevchenko is going to be fun to watch.

Not trying to be a dick when I say this, but other than the cool outside appearance, what’s so great about the sphere?
Also, I am trying to be a dick when I say this, but I hope Merab chokes the shite out of O’Malley
.. not sure I’ve ever disliked a ufc fighter this much for no particular reason before

The inside is cooler than the outside if you can believe it. It's like they took 20 of the world's largest IMaxes and put them all together on the inside. It's hard to wrap your head around just how big and immersive it is.
That being said, it's absolutely terrible for events like this and a nightmare for concerts because of the acoustics. It's all about the visuals though.

That looks pretty cool, thank you
