Frankie is a more technical fighter and has never been finished in his career. He's not going to be put in too many nasty situations and in a 5 round fight he's going to be in control in most of the rounds. I'd say easy decision win for Frankie unless conor improves his ground game and takedown defense significantly
He still made it a close fight against Bendo (who fights at ww now) after that upkick destroyed his nose.

Damn, that's worse than Franklin's nose after his first fight with Anderson.
Ya I knew it was VERY bad the second he turtled up from the shot to his nose. I wouldn't be surprised if he broke his eye socket or something as well. Rory was winning but Lawler was just a straight beast at the end and landed bigger shots.

Rory can fight Condit next and work his way back up the ladder. He desperately needs to work on his wrestling though.

The thing with Frankie is he is a slow starter and against someone like Conor you just cannot afford to be. I really am afraid for Edgars health if they fight.
Really though how much time is Conor going to have to strike with Frankie. Frankie would make it a boring fight. He would push conor against the cage get takedowns and just pepper him with shots on top. I don't see Conor getting a decision win over Frankie and Conors gas tank is still a mystery. He cuts a lot of weight and if he's drug into the later rounds I think he wilts.

Imagine if Conor's piss comes back hot and he gets suspended for 2 years under their new program.

Lawler had the the same look in the eye that he had at the end of his 2nd fight with Hendricks, a look befitting of the nickname "Ruthless."

Conor sounds drunk as shite.

Conor sounded like a tired man and who can blame him after everything he has been through the last 3 months?
BTW I love this gif:

McGregor better stay at 145 for a while because at 55 Khabib would mop the floor with him. I think Cowboy would beat him, Dos Anjos etc. etc.

Cowboy and McGregor would be a lot of fun to watch

That stare down is one of the greatest most intense things I've ever seen in combat sports.

He's definitely a great fighter but keeping his hands down like that against Aldo will get him killed.
There are reasons a striker might drop his hands when fighting a shorter wrestler.

Chael Sonnen vs. Anderson Silva III last night was really good.

I've said many times Khabib is the only guy at 155 or under that would give him trouble. Conor could win for sure but I don't know if he would be the favorite. Conor would kill Cowboy though, and I love Cowboy. RDA would be tough but I don't see him being the same RDA we saw against Pettis once he has to face the new drug testing policy and even if we did Conor would be the favorite. He looked better than usual the against Pettis because he cracked him early and Pettis was just off.

Yea realized that mid post, but did spell out McGregor when I needed to.

Cowboy has the height and reach to match McG and is much better on the ground. He may not have as much power but he is one dude that can kick McG right upside his skull

"Robbie Lawler's lip," he exclaimed. "If you could've been in the Octagon and saw this lip, okay? He would talk and this part of the lip would move and the other part wouldn't, right? What's his name's nose was broken. They asked him ... When Rory got out back, they said ‘what year is it?' And he didn't know what year it was. You know what I mean? It was a complete display... First of all it was a war and a complete display of chin, heart, grit, dogged determination and the will to win from both guys. I mean when you talk about a fight -- like I said, fight ever -- that's what I'm talking about."
