I’m starting to lean toward McGregor actually winning this one. Current odds (+182) not as juicy as I thought it would be

is that why he came back and fought diaz even though he didnt have to after he lost to him... then fought poirier at 155 when dustin was a top 3 LW, after he had brutally KO dustin at 145? then came back and fought dustin again after he lost to him by KO?
So your defense to his amazing legacy is that he went 2-3 vs Diaz/ Porier? Do you see why this is hilarious now?
That's the best guys he fought and there's nothing special about either. Just decent fighters with strong jaws. That's exactly why Conor would fight them.
He avoided every top contender between Woodley/ Holloway/ Khabib/ Ferguson.
What he did do was act like he would fight all those guys, get in backstage alterations with them, and then run away or get his arse beat majority of the time.
33% winning
33% talking about winning
33% losing
Greatest to ever do it with a legacy built on a 4-4 record vs Khabib/ Porier/ Diaz/ Aldo/ Alvarez/ Cerrone.
Maximum hype, mid career.

I don't like or dislike Conor I really didn't think he'd ever fight again

Press conference starting 10 min

So yeah Conors whole career is a joke and his hype is based off avoiding opponents who could best him instead of fighting them.
He fought Khabib. That nullifies your whole argument.
Dude has four events in the top PPV buys all time, all sports included. And people are acting shocked he's getting special treatment.

I don't think I've ever heard a true MMA fan say this. People love Connor, but no one thinks this.

dude is dumb. he literally made an argument that conor doesnt fight people that would beat him.. I then pointed out conor rematched two of his 3 losses in the ufc and both were immediate rematches. the only one he didnt rematch is khabib who retired anyway and I guarantee you he would fight him again.

Well sure, but I just assumed he meant fighter. Him being the biggest draw and entertainer is hard to argue.

Yeah that guy is a retard. Hell Conor gave his top earlier this week. Can't remember the exact order but it was GSP, Bones and Khabib

I think it'd be fun and wild if Conor was able to pull this off, but I'd be shocked if he wins against Max.
While Conor has been off having a lost weekend phase, Max has been busy fighting a murderer's row of the best in the game.
Max is also a pretty fast, dart in-and-out type fighter, not a favorable matchup for a guy coming back from an injury after 5 years.
Max also has a chance to get an early career loss back like he did against Poirier. He has experience with this spoiler role.
Topuria had to work hard to put Max down, wasn't until round 3 that he landed that hard straight right that kicked off the finishing sequence. Most people think Conor needs to get it done in the 1st or 2nd or he'll gas out.
