I've watched plenty of boxing in the last 10 years and James Toney was a great middle weight in his prime, which was about 10 years ago. He stepped up to heavyweight and gave some guys trouble but never really had heavy fists.
They're trying to pump it up like he's one of th greatest boxers around and that's not the truth. If you put one of the Klitschko's in the ring I'd give them a fighter's chance. Toney will get pounded and his only chance in hell is a flash KO but Couture has probably been hit by much harder punchers like Chuck Liddell.

No they're not.
They're promoting him as the most decorated boxer to enter MMA. Which hands down is the truth and he's facing someone who's pushing 50.

I would give Vitali more than a fighter's chance. I mean he was a World Class Kickboxer long before he was a world class boxer.
Vitali Kickboxing
That backfist at 9:16 is sick.
It's amazing to me how FAST Vitali used to be! For a guy who is 6'6-7 he just floats around the ring. You can definitely see how his early career as a kickboxer affected his style as a boxer.

I can at least understand Page. Toney has had almost 90 fights. Why doesn't the commission check out his brain? It's obviously not right. He's always been dumber than a box of rocks but now it seems even worse.
that's pretty much what boxing does to a brain... if you rattle someone's brain inside their skull a few thousand times it adds up

And New York banned mma but allows boxing.

I screwed up. I could've swore these two were fighting at Light Heavy.

Ok he's 5'9" right? Is this what they were expecting him to weigh?
Posted on 8/27/10 at 5:06 pm to DBG
So did Randy go into this with the mind-set to put on as much weight as possible?

i think only toney thinks he's the greatest boxer of all time. everyone else knows better. he's a broken self-promoting hype machine. he's no joke but he's only about half as great as he thinks he is.
he was once a awesome MW but now he's borderline washed up. both his bogus titles he got were vacant i believe. man needs to retire. i can't stand to hear him slur.

Schlitt's and Giggles by Perkins Road Overpass people. Be there!
Posted on 8/27/10 at 6:13 pm to The Ramp
this may be the worst betting lines for favorites. i can bring myself to take any underdogs but the line is beckoning me. good gawd couture is at -575 and penn at -325.
what to do...what to do...
what to do...what to do...

the nasty bastard has almost his entire arse hanging out of his underwear when he went to weigh in....the ring girls were laughing at him

Nate Diaz look exactly same at 170 as he does at 155.
