How can you say that about a team that has long been a pillar of its conference?

It hosts the most prestigious bowl game and im pretty sure they'll be using it in the 2028 Olympics too.

This is probably a good move for UCLA but doesn't feel right. I could see them being the first major program to ditch football completely.

Good. Now move the Rose Bowl game there too because the Rose Bowl stadium itself is a dump, with the only appeal being the surrounding landscape view from the top rows of the stadium.

These are those who only care about ease and creature comforts, might as well just watch at home in your Lazy-boy if that's the litmus test.

Stadiums aren't meant to recreate a 5 star Resort. Boy, are we soft in these times we live.

Also, most who have gone to the Rose Bowl Game don't leave ill tempered and full of complaints unless they're just miserable to begin with.

That the same bowl game that Durham NC hosted twice?

I remember when Tulane played at the superdome. Always felt very half arse.

The fanbase is just now beginning to recover.

They do. They love Pauley Pavillion but don't give a damn about the football program, really.

The Rose Bowl is literally the only thing that program has going for it. They will now be a soulless football program playing in a soulless building in front of no one.

I get the argument about the distance from campus and if they were building a nice stadium on, or at least close to, campus I couldn't fault them. This is a terrible move though and will suck for everyone involved.

But don’t let the the little historical blip of WWII affect that

And it was in Texas for covid. Otherwise a pretty good history in Pasadena

Tradition = UCLA sharing LA Coliseum with Southern Cal….

UCLA moved to the Rose Bowl in 1982…

Never was. Campus location, proximity to recruits was their brag. UCLA isn’t Washington where they have the best stadium in college football to lean on despite being in a far distant corner of the country.

They’d be removed from the big ten and their non rev sports would suffer mightily

It's also just 4 miles from LAX. I stayed next to LAX last year and was surprised how quick I got to Inglewood/SoFi

Right now, no transplants are flying in to watch this shitty team.

Because Tulane had no business playing in a 70,000+ seat stadium. The fanbase isn't big enough to support that.

UCLA is actually moving to a smaller capacity stadium, which may be better than seeing all of the empty seats when they play at Rose Bowl.
