Why do we have 33 year old Posey, 31 year old MoPete, 29 year old Rasual, and 32 year old Peja for a combined $29MM per season but we can't have one 27 year old franchise center?
i don't know if i would call tyson a franchise center. according to PER he's only playing slightly better than either joe smith or chris wilcox

Yep.
Posey has been a good addition but giving a 33 yr old role player a 4yr deal was retarded.
If Mo Pete actually cashes his checks he should be arrested for theft.
And Peja hasnt been worth the deal we gave him in about 5 or 6 years.

They seemed to be almost there on being an elite team and then they go and trade Chandler away..

Not a pick. But the rights to DeVon "Big Play" Hardin. That's like a lottery pick. Except better.

We had to have gotten a draft pick out of this....

Not according to the OKC newspaper.

So doesnt this trade just put them at the cap number instead of over it? If so, they still cant do anything in the offseason.
there are 2 "caps"
the actual salary cap, which allows you to sign FAs (if you're under), and the luxury tax
the luxury tax threshold establishes a payroll level where if you cross it, you're taxed $1 for every $1 you're over
we're way over the cap, and will be for a few years
we're at the luxury tax level and will be under once we let these expiring deals expire

The Thunder has acquired center Tyson Chandler from New Orleans in exchange for Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith, according to a league source with knowledge of the negotiations.
well at least there won't be many more "HORNETS BOARD?" threads

Doesnt look like it. We wouldve probably sold it off like last year anyway.
