What a weird dynamic. People that supposedly hate racism desperately hoping for a racial incident to have happened and ignoring all evidence that contradicts their hope

Yea that audio and video 100% vindicates the guy. The audio was clearer here that I could make out "dinger". Not to mention he clearly yelling and waving for the mascot in the corner.
Now say for example if the mascot wasn't right there, or if he was faced forward towards the batter, then yea I wouldn't have an issue with him being vilified.
This is why context is important.

After watching the longer 50 second version you can hear a few other fans yelling something similar before him too (just not as loud). I am interested to see how the Rockies/MLB play this

how was the dude not immediately identified and called out for that by nearby fans?
Because the fans around him are racist too. It’s systemic, haven’t you heard?

Not really weird at all, the demand for racism greatly outweighs supply

And it didn't stop the Rockies organization from putting out a stupid PR statement based on a fictional event. I'd be so pissed if I was that guy.
This whole "you're guilty until we say you're not but you're going to he ostracized from society anyways" is completely disgusting and it's happening on one side only right now.
The same group that cries "JUSTICE! JUSTICE!" also propagates completely disgusting fictions like this constantly.

How long until they change the mascot name? By end of the week?

They were wrong about Duke lacrosse.
They were wrong about the UVA fraternity rape.
They were wrong about Columbia mattress girl.
They were wrong about Brett Kavanaugh.
They were wrong about Jussie Smollett.
They were wrong about Bubba Wallace.
Being a social justice progressive in today's America means never having to say you're sorry.

The Astros radio guy Robert Ford put out a lengthy statement condemning this racial attack. When pressed on the possibility that the person actually yelled dinger he responded by highlighting a part of his diatribe about listening and not minimizing the lived experiences of black people because they're experts at identifying racism.

I heard the clip. Sounds like Dinger to me, which is the name of the Rockies mascot and would completely explain why no one in the crowd reacted

This isn’t about one particular instance. The point is this stuff happens all the time, & little to nothing is done. And, regardless of the context, or the evidence, many automatically jump to “yeah…but…” rather than listening & trying to understand the root of the frustration

There's no question they'll change the name. Also, mlb fans will be highly discouraged from using the word ever again. They'll make the word "dinger" synonymous with the n-word in no time. Then all words that rhyme with dinger like ringer or finger, etc. will be frowned upon.
All because we've lost our collective minds. We've decided reality itself doesn't matter if our "internal sense" believes in "its truth".
"Why yes, of course he didn't actually say the word, but my TRUTH made me feel the racism of the word all the same and we all need to make sure we no longer say words that could even be mistaken for the n-word ever again to alleviate historical psychological oppression reactions that effect BIPOC. "

Exactly my quote. He can frick right off.

I'm not going to live my life based on your constant need to turn yourself into a victim for attention and meaning in your life. I'm not a pawn in your stupid mind game.

You see this when other incidents happen. There’s almost an exuberance. I

I touched on it last night that this would be the shift once the truth became clear. Truth doesn't matter, right? It's not a relief that no one shouted the n word so boldly. Doesn't matter that he didn't say it. Because he COULD have. The guy not saying it doesn't mean America isn't an irredeemably racist place. It is. That's why it's so believable that he said it. If you want to leave it af "this didn't happen" you're minimizing the fear and the pain POCs have to live with.

Wait, what?
So, whites have to be saddled with what "could happen"?
Why not toss all black males into jail and accuse them of crimes not yet committed because they COULD commit a crime.?

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for them to do anything at all publicly.
