to me and ran across fricking FLAG FOOTBALL!. That shite was pretty bad until it got even worse when one of the teams was actually wearing HELMETS!.

It still has to be better than watching Savanna Bananas!

Just like everything, it individual preferences.

I love MLB and watch nearly every game that I can get on our cable system. The best things in the past couple of years has been the pitching clock speeding up the games, and the willingness of baseball owners to embrace replays to allow the calls to be correct.

IndyCar, IMSA, Formula 1, or WEC have a race almost every weekend.

Tour de France is pretty interesting as well but requires lots of daily time to watch.

The 1st preseason NFL game is 10 days away. College starts in about a month.

the MLB season is far too long. 162 games, so each one has little meaning. Very little action and very little emotion on the field.

How are the NBA and NHL any different?
neither of those are any different for me. Don’t watch any of the 3 so truly a sports desert for me between the end of LSU baseball season and football season when there’s no Olympics or men’s international soccer on. Have the World Cup next summer at least to shorten the period of the dark days

Teams fighting for a playoff berth late September says different. Believe what you want but to them every game matters.

TV sports hell

Summer is the worst time for sports watching on TV

The last sports game I watched was LSU winning the college World Series.

I hate June and July more than anything.

The good news is preseason NFL football starts a week from this Thursday and goes on all the way through August when the college football game start.

It's also prime time for sprint cars if you're into that. Just had King's Royal, and Knoxville Nationals coming up in a few weeks.

I like football as much as the next guy but there are tons of cool sporting events in the summer.

I think August is the worst month, college football is near, and you start counting down the days until football starts. Feening to hear "Coming to Your City".... lol

Sometimes the anticipation is one of the best parts. Doing some test runs of gameday recipes, begging the grass to quit growing, just trying to will the Fall into existence. Gotta enjoy that part too, because by the end of September I’ll be “not watching another game this year.”

A couple weeks back my uncle was telling me about watching a skipping rocks championship on ESPN2. Is that true?

Yeah, MLB gotta love the fact that they’re the only thing in sports worth watching right now. “The only game in town” for true sports fans.

Excepting the fact that they do an absolute shite job of getting games on tv, I agree.

Quite the contrary.

With those long, boring college baseball games out of the way, it’s MLB all the time. Not to mention the boxing and Ufc. Sprinkle in some quality soccer tournaments. Its a pretty good time before we get pounded and overrun with 24-7 football.

I won the first annual national rock skipping championship in hot springs, Arkansas back in the 70s at the hot springs fun festival on lake Hamilton.

I’d like a shot to repeat somewhere….haha

There's been International Rugby on all month long. British & Irish Lions are playing their second test match against Australia this Saturday.
