Tulane has a looooooong way to go to make that happen.

Not really. Two years ago, you probably said the same thing about Temple.

So, they're going to play on an oval field in this new stadium?

It looks like an elongated Aussie Rules pitch.

Should I be sold on coach johnson?

What offense is he going to bring in?

I just heard his press conference and Im not too sold. I cant hit the nail on it but something tells me not to get my hopes up

One of these doesn't fit.

At the very least, it doesn't fit as well as Texas Tech does, or Kansas State and Ok State in most years.

He said something on WIST's tulane coach's show (formerly the weekly Bob Toledo show) about whatever their QBs name is being smart enough to learn some portions of the current saints play book, but he won't expect as masterful a command as he has gotten used to with Brees.

I hear you. I'm not trying to disparage. TCU's been on an upswing recently (Baylor has been as well, for a shorter period of time). I tend to look at all of these realignment moves in terms of decades. What I'm trying to get it is that, given a decade in the conference and actually putting forth some effort to build their program, Tulane could compete with most of the teams in the Big XII. And it wouldn't really take a decade.. in college football, a program can turn things around over a period of three or four years if the chips fall right.

Griffin has no place in the spread. He has already shown that thats not his strength (2009).

apparently there will be new football facilities included in this stadium plan. Maybe they are knocking down their current athletics center or finding some way to build into/onto it?

Interested to see this thing

Griffin had his most efficient season in 09. I don't really think the type of offense ever had a whole lot to do with his struggles he's just not very good. Tulane would be better off starting one of the younger QB's next season, IMO.

Scott Cowan says: on campus (at the current practice field and tennis facilities), 30,000 seating, finished by start of 2014 season.

Yeah, I agree. I think you can lump everyone in the XII except OU and UT into the group of schools that tulane could compete with in most years if given the opportunity to build their program under the Big XII banner.

But, if I had to exclude one other school, it would have to be TCU.
