Let’s give the Niners just as much credit for the Purdy pick as the grief for the Lance pick.

Ridder isn’t a legit starting option with all due respect.

Trey Lance can at least run the football a bit though

So can Ridder. He has 4.5 speed

Ridder does not impress me at all. He will end up a mediocre career backup…..

I mean...when you consider what the political and social climate was like at the time, it doesn't really defy belief. Those were very irrational times.

The only black hc hired during that offseason was David Culley, who everyone knew was hired to lose some games then get fired, so doubt they were too concerned with that.

I think Denver should offer a 7th rounder for him, SF won’t accept but if they did, could be a potential low risk high reward if Russ sucks dick again

If thats the best offer they will accept it. They dont want to release him, and they dont want him on the team.

To be clear he was held out of practice because they’re trying to get a deal done

As QB3 his trade value won’t magically be going up and they’d rather get his cap hit / future dead money off the books. They will almost certainly take the best offer they get

When he was drafted, there was a rumor that SF wanted to take Mac Jones but the optics of having 3 white QBs go 1-2-3 with Lance as a top option pressured them to take Lance.

I thought the story was Lynch wanted Fields and Shanahan wanted Jones so they compromised and drafted Lance.

Shanahan is the same guy that said no to Tom Brady because he had Jimmy G. I think it was one year later they traded 3 firsts and made this pick.

His decision making at QB is kind of a shite show. I would definitely trade for Lance if i wasn't sure about my QB room.

With an attitude like that, who would trade for him?

I remember that going around. Funny thing is Mac hasn't looked great either.

If they'd taken Mac those same people would be saying "See? Mac wasn't even good!"

Trey would be apprenticing and we'd be waiting to see if he was any good.

The Falcons have 3 legitimate options at QB. Ridder - the starter, Heineke - the backup who is a verified NFL QB, Woodside - backup who knows A Smith’s system and started in Tennessee in a few games.
