Front 7 play in the nfl compared to offensive line play is pert near night and day.

As a jags fan I just don't understand the organization giving him this kind of money early. I just don't think he has that dawg in him to take it to the next level such as Joe Burrow or Josh Allen.

Sunshine is not elite. He just makes elite money. We are about to witness Dak Prescott blow by this guy and his playoff record is way past embarrassing. What can I say, average QBs in the league are making 40 mil a year. Meanwhile, HOF running backs can't get close to even 20 million a year. When perception becomes reality you get Sunshine as an elite NFL QB. It's the only way.

At the end of a game we need a drive or a first down to have chance to win or preserve a win and Tlaw just doesn’t do it. He just doesn’t have the awareness that a lot of the young great qb’s have. He holds the ball too long and takes a sack and has a shite ton of turnovers to go along with the sacks.

His best weapons have been cast offs of other teams. Ridley didn't even know the playbook last year.

Engram had one good year before going to the Jags.

Christian Kirk has easily been his best weapon and he was hurt at times last year, and even when they signed him everyone said they overpaid. He was a decent number 2 or really good number 3 type receiver before he got to Jacksonville.

His center had a worse PFF grade that some backups last year he ranked 34th in the league.

Plus he was hurt half the year.

Idk how people who actually watch what he can do with the football could think hes bad or even just mediocre. There aren't many QBs I'd take over him going forward.

Idk if I would even say this, but I would say given how offenses operate nowadays that there are a ton of QBs you could win a lot of games with if you give them a decent roster.

Went to the Cincinnati/Jags Monday night game last year I said soon as Kirk went down we were done. We were on offense no playmakers other than Ingram but I didn't know our defense would fold up too for the rest of the season also. Both units look very improved by position this year hopefully we can make another playoff run this season. What do you guys think about the new stadium we are building. I am stoked for it

Being that revenues continue to increase exponentially, you’d prefer the owners (in this case Shahid Khan) just pocket the money? Why shouldn’t the players that bring eyeballs to the game be getting big contracts?

O linemen are the most important position on a team in my
Opinion….. they should be paid way more than they are.

Well, they could have always let him go and Jax could have just went back to their successful merry-go-round of QBs.

If Jax wasn’t going to pay him, someone else will. Because even though you don’t like him and he’s not the best QB in the league, he’s puts up 4K yards a season with really a very mediocre WR corps.

I get the number is high, but as history has clearly shown, you’re not going to win ANYTHING without a competent QB in this league. But unfortunately, this is the going rate for a Top 10 QB in the NFL because they don’t grow on trees anymore.

The thing that sticks out to me from that graphic is Baker has the same number of playoff wins as Lamar.

Contract extension doesn’t start til 2026. He’s got two more years on his rookie deal.

And the Jags can move about $45M of the cap hit from this extension into the next two seasons while he’s still under his rookie deal.

The contract is for five years, but by extending him two years early, the Jags can spread the cap hit over seven years.

If you think about it, not a lot of people watch NFL games for specific players

Exactly his cap hit will be around 40 million which is very manageable. I actually think he bounces back and has a good year.

Everything fell apart in the second half of last year including his body i think he had a new injury every other week. The fumbles are really bad though he needs to clean that up.

People absolutely watch NFL games for specific players and talent is a direct impact on the quality of the product

There’s a reason 100 different spring and fall competing leagues have come and gone. No one wants to watch boring shitty football by high school level talented players
