The Wizards are a mess franchise. And other than putting butts in the stands Luka isn’t much better than Trae. A one dimensional offensive wizard who won’t win crap until he is no longer than man. In the end, either Luka or Trae are going to do anything of note for a franchise. The Mavs and Hawks are better off long term without either of them as both have strong cores who actually play both ends of the floor.

Luka is a much more consistent threat than Trae as a scorer. Trae hits a couple of logo 3s and hits a scoop shot on drives here and there. But Luka has the ability to do things like: Make turnaround jumpers, face up and score from midrange or from 3....score in the paint over smaller guards.....

Not saying CJ is by any means a top tier defender, but he's better than Trae and throwing in 19 a game.
Trae is 7 years younger, coincidentally they're born on the same day, and he can give you 10 assists a game. You ain't gonna win with him but they're the Wiz so that barely matters.

Trae is younger, but nothing ever improves in his game. We have seen his first 7 years. Is he a better defender or does he have better shot selection than 6 or 7 years ago?

Luka is definitely a better player than Trae but neither are leading teams to anything because they are stat players and don’t elevate their team. Luka can’t play defense and it’s obvious his teammates don’t care for him. Same with Trae. The Hawks and Mavs are much better situated than the Lakers or Wizards because they don’t have either of these guys. The young Luka was a beast all over the court. This current version of Luka has turned into a white Lebron whiner but at least Lebron plays defense when he wants. Luka gets hunted on defense every night.

Luka definitely elevates his team. The lakers are just built terribly, with no big and none of their top 3 players being good on defense.

That new draft rule changes I think is having an effect here. Better to be mid than completely dogshit now
