I grew up playing soccer, so I definitely respect the move. It clearly works, rather than just being pure flash and disrespect. The disrespect is just bonus

I also understand giving him a hard foul, like Ariza did, to send a message. All part of the game.

I feel like we’ve got folks on both extremes. Love it? Hate it?

It's a great move and I am fine with a hard foul in response.

Honestly, once you get nutmegged, you're going to be worried about it all game. It puts the defender on tilt.

I mean, if you don’t want it to happen to you, then stop the ball. I think it’s hilarious.

It’s a legitimate move. I am biased as a Hawks fan but if executed right it is often a free score or assist. I don’t really see it as any more disrespectful than a crossover

Love it. If you feel disrespected by it you are insecure

If you can pull it off, do it. Don’t be mad a dude half your size manages to make you look goofy.

I don't see how someone can be against it. If someone keeps beating you to the right, stop leaning left.. same thing.

I really don't see it any different than a crossover/breaking someone's ankles. If you don't want it to happen to you, play better defense.

I'm indifferent. It's a legal play. Defenders will adapt, and Young is the one expending more energy catching up to the ball and risking turnovers by doing it. He's a fun player to watch, but he can't get mad if he catches a shoulder from someone he tried to embarrass. Something tells me he won't be bothered. The NBA needs both young talent like him and old school mentality on defense.

Agree with both sides, I’d hard foul if someone did it to me and I would also have no reservation about doing it to someone if I could.

He took about 7 steps on the Ariza play. Jesus.

It's absolutely disrespectful. Not quite as bad as if an LSU fan were to stick his finga in ya booty. And certainly not enough to have someone killed out cheer for it. But, as in soccer, that's what makes it so entertaining and awesome. If you don't want it to happen to you, then stop it.

Nutmegging is awesome. In soccer it's a 100% way to get your jersey grabbed unless you're in the box tho. It's embarrassing as hell don't mind the hard foul at all. That's what's supposed to happen when you're a young guy disrespecting a veteran. Trae should never stop doing it tho, it's a highly effective move in both sports.

Hard foul to send a message? lol

Pathetic. Play better defense.

It's kind of weird when he has to run the ball down though. Seems like that shouldn't be legal.

You seem young.

Nothing wrong with hard fouls in these situations, just like there’s nothing wrong with going for the nutmeg.

There should be more hard fouls.

Same thought. He takes so many steps in between dribbles. Rule experts, what is the rule here?

I assume it applies to the dribble-fumble-dribble rule which is allowed.

It's a legal play - don't see how you can be against it.

Also, if you're cool with a gimme foul because you have an issue with it - go right ahead.
