MLB: Braves, I guess. Go to a game or a few every year but don't really follow them or the sport anymore.
NHL: Blackhawks, but did jump on the Predators bandwagon this year.

its just a name. the full nickname is the fightin' texas aggies. its the texas a&m fightin' texas aggies. not just the texas aggies. if you were to say your favorite team was the tigers, would that be you disassociating yourself from auburn? or would that just be calling your team by a nickname? its the same thing here

To be accurate the same thing would be calling ourselves the Alabama Tigers. And yes that would disassociate the team from the University.

By being called the Alabama Tigers, that implies we are representing the state of Alabama and not Auburn University.

I don't mind you having a nickname which is the Aggies. That's fine. I just don't know why you would leave out the A&M. Texas A&M Aggies, Aggies, Texas A&M all seem like an appropriate thing to call yourselves but not the Texas Aggies.

But I mean y'all can do what you want. It's just another weird thing y'all do that I don't understand.
