It is up for interpretation, there is no right answer. It depends what each indivual considers a football move. I think extending the ball with possession for the goal line is a football move. So I say catch by the rulebook

PEaria is a POS who wasn't good enough to be an actual ref anymore. he doesn't know how to explain the rules. What a POS> I hope he has a flat tire on the way home

Either way, it doesn't matter. The rule book clearly states that a player must maintain possession all the way through. It doesn't matter.

the "dive" is absolutely up for debate, and the ball was jostled loose during his first step

The steps are somewhat irrelevant, though. He was going to the ground with possession, and he had to maintain it all the way through.

When he didn't do that, he didn't complete the catch.

The football move is when he tried to reach the ball into the end zone and score.

dez CLEARLY moves his upper body to stop falling and to allow him to propel his body towards the end zone, which he does

if the act was one "fall", then he would have fallen on his back or side and not on his stomach. that turn and reach = football move

Wasn't a catch. I knew it when the play happened and I knew it would be revered.

And I was HOPING it would be a catch!!!

The act of diving for the endzone is in fact a football move. The play Should have stood based on it being called complete on the field. The official called it complete because he considered that a football move. Its certainly disputable and not conclusive that the dive was controlled enough to be considered a football move therefore whatever was ruled on the field should stand.

Wow, a lot of you obviously do not know the rules. It was not a catch. He has to maintain control/possession when going to the ground and he did not. It has nothing to do with how many steps he took or if he made a football move. Jesus.

No, it says football move completes the catch as well. That is up to everyone's interpretation

and that angle opens up the issue of whether the ball even hit the ground or not

Was it a catch? Yes

However, it was not a catch according to a very poor NFL rule introduced about six years ago. The problem is that the rule was misapplied in this case.

You're saying it doesn't matter if he completed the act of a catch? Not sure what you're saying at all here.

he didn't get 3 steps.
He definitely took 3 steps after th the catch, then a
dive.

He was falling and stretched out. Good call

only if the catch hasn't been completed

once it's completed, that section does not apply
