IMO opinion it was absolutely a catch, easily. After the catch where he still had complete control. He fell to ground reaching out for the end zone. If anything you call that a fumble, but I just don't see how that is not ruled a catch

It's a catch in every sense of the word.

The rule is dumb and takes away common sense

If the ground can't cause a fumble then it shouldn't be able to cause an incompletion either. This is fricking stupid.

Pretty much.

Same thing with a player maintaining possession after a TD catch, but a runner being allowed to fumble a split second after the ball crossed the goalline. Makes no sense.

Was it a catch by anybody's standards that has common sense? Yeah.

Good call by refs

I think it was a catch. It wasn't a case of going to the ground while in the process of making the catch. It was a case of catching the ball and making an additional football move to attempt to stretch the ball past the goal line.

Nope

Good call.

Can't wait to see the Lombardi pass through Texas so that cowgirl fans can go look at it in their local Walmart and know their shame.

I know the rule and hate the rule.

this play didn't apply to that rule imo. The act of diving and extending the ball as he landed, other arm and leg down mind you, is the second act of the catch. Total miss by the entire crew.

the ball was also tipped by the defender as dez went up, therefore his second grab of the pass could also be seen as a second "move". Not to mention the at least two if not three steps.

again total blown call. Doesn't mean Dallas would have won in the end though

I don't know, but the rule is fricking idiotic. Ruined a great game. By any reasonable standard it was a catch, and a great one.

Catch, 3 steps, dive.

At what point is it a catch, 4 steps? 6 steps?
