Basketball can be painful to watch at times bc of refs. My thing is that traveling has disappeared. Lebron takes four steps on a regular basis. Drives me crazy.

How tall was the guy guarding Olynyk? Bc he threw his shite in the stands 5 or 6 times and Olynyk is damn near 7 feet tall, he showed he's slow and unathletic

you are so ill-informed. He's 6'10" and Olynyk gets shots blocked frequently. You can afford to if you average 17 points on 63 percent. You have clearly only watched one game.

Especially since its only been since last year that anybody should have even wanted to play for southern.

Coach Banks is fixing that.

Not true, I work nights so I've watched several Zags games this year, they're clearly better than how they played today, but I've never seen Kelly get stuffed that much at the basket

They showed they aren't the best team in the tournament and showed they probably won't win it all. But their schedule isn't as bad as you're trying to make it out to be.

Don't be the guy in every draft thread who acts like a scout so when a white guy gets drafted in the first round he shouts TERRIBLE PICK!

Yea. How do you beat a 16 seed by only 6 points?

It happens. Maybe Southern should have been higher seeded, maybe Southern shot lights out, maybe Zags were cold. It could be a number of things. It's one of 34 games this year they've played. If you aren't going to give them credit for blowing teams out on a near-gamely basis, don't penalize them for not winning by enough.

I actually don't think there's as much travelling that doesn't get called, as many people think. People bitch about NBA refs incessantly, but college basketball refs are the absolute worst officials in American sports. There's almost no flow to the college game because refs have no continuity with their calls.

Like I said, if Harris doesn't have a passive game under the basket like he did today, Gonzaga wins big. Once he gets his shot blocked once, he stops attacking the basket and settles for blockable layups.

And everything I've looked at has Olynyk listed at 7 feet tall, it's ok man, he's not athletic, it's not the end of the world

Well then don't act like this game was some big revelation. Theres obviously going to be variance from game to game. This game didn't expose Olynyk as overrated in any way.

I know, I think the Zags and Kelly are both good, I was simply saying I've never seen him get blocked so many times, he wAs great as usual in his mid range and pick n roll game..

He runs the court better than every big man in the country other than Cody Zeller.

This is a pretty athletic dunk on a break by Olynyk

Yes I know. He is not explosive or long. He is fast and agile. Moves great for a big man. Again, none of this is new. He is who he is and thats a POY candidate. Nothing changed by him having a great game while his team struggled.

#1 seed G-town with Alonzo Mourning beat pasty Princeton by 1 point.

G-town lost to #2 Duke in the regional FINALS.

Fair enough

Btw I think Zeller and Plumlee run the floor better, that's just my opinion though

If Southern could shoot better, they would have won. Gonzaga consistently gave them open looks. I'm not saying Olynyk is overrated, but I'm also not saying he's going to play better as the tournament goes on. Gonzaga better hope they were just overlooking their opponent, or they'll be bounced in the next couple games.

you follow the scores on your phone? Zags did not give them open looks. They made a lot of contested 3s. Olynyk doesnt need to play better. He was dominant.

Now if you had said Elias Harris(or really any other player besides Olynyk) instead of Olynyk, maybe somebody with a clue would take you seriously.

He had 21 points on over 50% shooting and 10 rebounds. He was the center of the team that gave up 0 offensive rebounds until a meaningless one with 10 seconds left. Southern made 8 2 point field goals all game(only 2 in the second half) and all but 1 of those was on a jumper.

But he got his shot blocked once in the first half....... Nevermind, you are right.
