It’s one of the most tragic celebrity/public deaths of all time. Of course the coverage and discussion is nonstop.

Media coverage and discussion of course.

But some of the threads I've seen, like this one for instance (although I don't know if the title is kinda in jest), and other like "can anyone just not concentrate today?". It's a little much.

I'm all for paying respects and whatnot, but really, a celebrity death affects you that much?

The father/daughter aspect of it is incredibly powerful and what hits a lot of people hard.

Wasn’t there another father/daughter pair on that chopper?

Coach is definitely going to be missed.

Was his daughter an only child?

I'll say this as nice as possible:

Shut the frick up.
Go frick yourself.
Check yo self.

What happened is a tragedy; this wasn't 9/11 or Pearl Harbor.

Well, the average Tigerdroppings poster probably consumes much more sports media than average so they've been beaten over the head with this non stop, which almost certainly is partially responsible for any legit sadness at this point.

Most other people that consume news media outside of sports are now more concerned that they will be dying from coronavirus this month.

Can we get a fricking Kobe board until social media finds another story to latch onto?

I'd like to go back the other useless garbage on here instead of 100 Kobe posts on the first page.

I understand people are sad especially with the daughter element involved. And I was a legit fan of his. Haven’t shed one tear behind it.

It’s insane. I heard on the radio the other day the hosts compare the outpouring of feaux sadness to 9/11. I shite you not. I about put the damn car in ditch I was so mad. This is gotten beyond the pail. It’s about ratings and retweets. Nothing more, nothing less.

There was nothing faux about the sadness on 9/11, not sure if that’s what you meant

He was an icon and a huge role model for a lot of people. For some he was just another basketball player.

Why is that so hard for some to understand.

Ok since we being so damn real on this board let's call it what it is. Of course you racist people don't give a frick about Kobe...so. I realized something about about threads like this (along with all the senseless AB threads). Its either one of the majority racist starting it just for kicks and giggles, or a decent person who still actually thinks society is decent.

Yes I do expect the downvotes.
No I don't care.
Yes you will say something about "playing race card" ( whatever that is).
No I won't just leave( this board or America)

Don’t worry guys, Lebron fixed this board. We are back to not pretending like we care
