I’m not against utilitarianism, Brady wants the greatest COMPLETE TEAM around him to ensure league dominance for years to come, not gonna blame a guy for being smart within the grand scheme of things

This isn't difficult. He's chosen legacy over riches. And he has no reason to be concerned about the latter.

There have been articles written on what a complete lie it was that he “took less”. He allowed that Pats to play a lot of cap and accounting games with his contract that made it appear that he was getting less, when in reality he was getting paid just much as almost everyone else, his cap number was just lower due to tricks. In his defense, a lot of other QBs have not or would not give the team that kind of flexibility.

I don't think he's trying to relate to anyone. He's saying he's so damn rich an extra 500K isn't as enjoyable to him as cementing his legacy.
